KAGESEKAI is ISEKAI ZERO's web extension: the same stories, the same rules, played without the softening the app stores require. This page explains what it is, why we built it, and how the two fit together.
01 The short version
What KAGESEKAI is
KAGESEKAI (影世界, "shadow world") is what ISEKAI ZERO is today: every story, every rating, SFW, M17 and 18+, side by side, none favoured over another. ISEKAI ZERO itself will soon narrow to SFW and M17 to keep its place in the app stores; KAGESEKAI stays the full picture, by the same team, under the same terms and the same content policy.
The one thing it adds: KAGESEKAI is not affected by app store rules, so nothing the AI writes or draws is softened when you play.
That is the whole of it. KAGESEKAI is not going to be one of those platforms where everything is NSFW, and it is not heading that way. The most that may change down the line is a little more room for adult content than the app can give, within the same policy.
It is a web site, not an app in a store. You open it in your browser and, if you like, install it to your home screen so it behaves like an app, with notifications and all. It has its own sign-in and its own currency, and your ISEKAI ZERO email links the two.
Think of it as ISEKAI ZERO with the lights turned down: the same world, seen from its shadow side.
02 The honest part
Why we built it
ISEKAI ZERO lives in the Apple App Store and Google Play, and it takes payments through providers that have their own rules about what may appear inside an app. Those rules judge by the label, not the story: a plot-driven 18+ tale is treated like anything else with that rating, and they reach into the play itself, what the AI is allowed to write and draw for you. In practice that meant three things we did not like:
Creators kept hitting walls
A story written for adults had to be trimmed, and the AI was told to fade to black even when the writer wanted it to keep going.
Pictures were always softened
Whatever the scene, generated images and videos came out safe for a store screenshot.
The app could not be two things
Store rules apply to everything inside the app, so play that follows only our own rules could never live there. It had to live outside the app, on the web.
We did not want to keep censoring the play, and we were not going to change the app. So we built the extension. ISEKAI ZERO stays exactly what it is, in the stores, under their rules. KAGESEKAI is the same world reached from the web, where the rules of the stores do not apply to how a story plays out.
The name says it. Kage is shadow, sekai is world. Not a different world, the same one, seen from its shadow side.
03 Side by side
Two worlds, one engine
Both sites run on the same code and the same rules, so features arrive on both and the same policy applies on both. Here is what is the same and what is not.
One thing does cross over: public stories. Every public story on ISEKAI ZERO is listed on KAGESEKAI as well, so KAGESEKAI opens with a full library on day one and creators reach both audiences without doing anything. More on that below.
04 Your work on both sides
For creators
Your stories are already there
Public, approved stories from ISEKAI ZERO appear on KAGESEKAI automatically, with their characters, covers and translations, and they stay in sync when you update them. On KAGESEKAI they show a "Mirrored" badge and are read-only there: the original on ISEKAI ZERO is always the one you edit.
Prefer not to be listed? On ISEKAI ZERO, open Creator Settings › Distribution and turn off List on Partner Platforms. Your stories leave KAGESEKAI on the next sync. You can also keep a single story unlisted or private on KAGESEKAI only, from My Storylines here.
Publishing here is not open yet
KAGESEKAI's creator tools are a work in progress. You can write here and keep stories private or unlisted, and any mirrored story has a Make an editable copy option that gives you a private copy of it and your cast to work on. But nothing can be published on KAGESEKAI for now, and the app will tell you so. Publishing lives on ISEKAI ZERO, as it always has; what you publish there shows up here on its own.
One profile, one email
Sign in on KAGESEKAI with the same email you use on ISEKAI ZERO and your creator profile is waiting for you: your stories, your characters, your follower counts on mirrored work. No re-uploading, no starting from zero.
Earnings and stats
Your stories keep earning on ISEKAI ZERO: when players here chat with them or tip them, the earnings land in your ISEKAI ZERO creator wallet, so you get paid in one place no matter where players found you. Their stats work the same way: likes, plays and follows from both sites are counted together on ISEKAI ZERO and shown on both.
05 Currency
Soul and Sigil
KAGESEKAI has its own two currencies, with the same roles Mana and Arcane play on ISEKAI ZERO.

Earned by playing: daily check-ins, streaks, referrals. Spend it on text generation, the same way you spend Mana.
Sigil
Paid currency
Bought with a card or crypto. Used for images, videos, voices, and everything premium, the same way Arcane works.
Balances do not move back and forth between the two sites on their own. If you hold Arcane on ISEKAI ZERO and want to use it on KAGESEKAI, you can transfer it into Sigil from your KAGESEKAI account, matched by the same email, as often as you like for now; this is a convenience while the two sites settle in and it may go away one day. Purchases made through the app stores stay on ISEKAI ZERO.
06 Getting in
Using KAGESEKAI
- Open kagesekai.ai in any browser. No gate, no app store: it loads like any other site.
- Sign in with Google or email. Use your ISEKAI ZERO email if you want your creator profile linked.
- Install it like an app. On Android and desktop Chrome or Edge, tap Install app in Settings or the sidebar. On iPhone and iPad, tap Share in Safari, then Add to Home Screen. KAGESEKAI then opens full screen from your home screen.
- Turn on notifications. Once installed, you get the same notifications as the ISEKAI ZERO app: replies, followers, approvals, earnings. On iPhone this only works after installing to the home screen.
There is no KAGESEKAI app in the App Store or Google Play, and there will not be one. That is the whole point of being on the web.
07 Who greets you
Mitsuki and Jiku
ISEKAI ZERO has Michiru. KAGESEKAI has Mitsuki, "full moon", her elder sister: taller, calmer, a little more mischievous, with the same floppy witch hat and a pair of dark wings. She runs the store, helps in the tutorials, and shows up in the same places Michiru does on the other side.
Jiku the cat is the one character both worlds share. He is exactly the same cat on both sites, usually asleep on the shop counter.
Michiru stays on ISEKAI ZERO. Sisters, separate rooms.
08 The line
What stays off limits
Be clear about what KAGESEKAI frees you from: the way app stores and payment companies make the play get softened. Nothing else. KAGESEKAI runs under ISEKAI ZERO's terms, content policy and content guidelines, in full, and under the law. Anything illegal is out, full stop, and so is this:
- Sexual content involving minors, or characters that look or read as underage, whatever age is written down. No "wait until they're 18", no "aged up".
- Grooming or predatory content, or steering anyone towards sexual content with underage characters, here or anywhere.
- Real people, in any form. Characters here are fictional, full stop.
- Sexual content between family members.
- Sexual or suggestive content in school uniforms or school settings.
- Terrorism or violent extremism.
- Hate speech or discrimination against protected groups.
- Promoting, glorifying or giving methods for self-harm, suicide or eating disorders.
- Fake engagement: alternate accounts, bots, or any way of inflating likes, views or comments.
- Anything else the law forbids where you are or where we are.
These mean an immediate, permanent ban, on ISEKAI ZERO and KAGESEKAI alike, since they are one account policy. Stories are reviewed before they go public exactly as on ISEKAI ZERO. The full guidelines live at docs.kagesekai.ai. Not above the law, only out from under the store.
09 Roadmap
What comes next
First, the thing to know right now: the rules, the content policy and the content guidelines are ISEKAI ZERO's, in full, and they stay that way. KAGESEKAI is an extension of ISEKAI ZERO, not a platform of its own, and that is not changing in any future we can see.
KAGESEKAI is new and will be rough in places for a while. Here is what we are working on, in rough order:
- Publishing on KAGESEKAICreating here is a work in progress; until it is finished, nothing can be published on KAGESEKAI and public stories keep coming from ISEKAI ZERO. This comes first, because the next step depends on it.
- Then, 18+ stories move hereOnly once publishing works on KAGESEKAI: ISEKAI ZERO narrows to SFW and M17, to keep its place in the stores safe, and 18+ stories make this their home, where they can still be published and updated. Gradual, announced ahead of time, existing links kept working.
- More of everythingThe features that land on ISEKAI ZERO land here too, on the same day, since both run on one engine.
- Possibly, a little more roomWhat could come later is somewhat less restriction on adult content here than in the app. Possibly. Nothing is decided, and it would still sit inside ISEKAI ZERO's policy.

Questions people ask
Do I need a new account?
You sign in once here, that is all. Use the same email as on ISEKAI ZERO and your creator profile and mirrored stories are linked automatically.
Will my ISEKAI ZERO chats show up on KAGESEKAI?
Not by themselves, but you can bring them. Open your profile here, tap Import from ISEKAI ZERO, and pick what you want, one item at a time: your stories, characters, chats, the creators you follow, your likes and your saves. Each item comes over once, and the page shows what is already here. A chat needs its story to be on KAGESEKAI, and a chat in cold storage on ISEKAI ZERO has to be restored there first. Nothing is sent back the other way; notifications stay where they were made.
What happens to a story I import?
It becomes your own private copy here, with its cast, that you can edit freely, the same as making an editable copy of a mirrored story. The original on ISEKAI ZERO is not touched, and a public story keeps being mirrored beside your copy.
How do I earn from a story that came from ISEKAI ZERO?
The same as always, in one place. A mirrored story is still your ISEKAI ZERO story: when players on KAGESEKAI chat with it or tip it, the earnings are credited to your ISEKAI ZERO creator wallet, and its likes, plays and follows are counted together with the ones from ISEKAI ZERO. Nothing to claim or set up here. Stories you create on KAGESEKAI itself earn on KAGESEKAI.
Can I take my Mana or Arcane over?
Mana stays on ISEKAI ZERO. Arcane can be transferred into Sigil from your KAGESEKAI account, as long as both accounts use the same email. There is no limit on that for now, though the option may go away one day. Purchases made through Apple or Google stay on ISEKAI ZERO.
How do I transfer my Arcane?
Sign in to KAGESEKAI with the same email as your ISEKAI ZERO account and open your profile. On the Sigil balance card you will see "Bring in from ISEKAI ZERO" with the amount of Arcane available to move. Tap it, enter how much you want to bring over, and confirm. It arrives as Sigil, one to one, right away. If the option is not there, the emails do not match or there is no Arcane to move.
I don't want my stories on KAGESEKAI.
Turn off List on Partner Platforms under Creator Settings › Distribution on ISEKAI ZERO. Your stories are removed from KAGESEKAI on the next sync. Or keep them listed and hide just one or two from My Storylines on KAGESEKAI.
Is ISEKAI ZERO going away or changing?
Not going away. ISEKAI ZERO keeps its apps, its Discord, Michiru, and everything you use today. The one change coming is that it will carry SFW and M17 stories only, to keep its place in the stores safe; see the next question. KAGESEKAI is an extension of it, not a replacement.
Where do 18+ stories go?
Here. KAGESEKAI carries all three ratings, SFW, M17 and 18+, so when ISEKAI ZERO narrows to SFW and M17, 18+ stories simply keep living on KAGESEKAI, under the same policy and review as always. It happens gradually, we announce each step ahead of time, and existing links keep working.
Is KAGESEKAI an adult platform?
No. It is not one of those platforms where everything is NSFW, and it is not heading that way. It carries SFW, M17 and 18+ stories alike, including the 18+ ones ISEKAI ZERO will stop carrying, all under ISEKAI ZERO's terms, content policy and content guidelines, with the same review before anything goes public. Can I publish stories on KAGESEKAI?
Not yet. Creating here is a work in progress, so stories on KAGESEKAI can only be private or unlisted for now, and the app says so where it matters. Publish on ISEKAI ZERO as always; your public stories appear here on their own.
Where is the KAGESEKAI community?
It is the ISEKAI ZERO community. One Discord, one creator programme, one set of announcements, since KAGESEKAI is part of ISEKAI ZERO rather than something beside it.
Why no app in the stores?
Because store rules are exactly what KAGESEKAI exists to step out of. Installing the site to your home screen gives you an app icon, full screen and notifications without a store in between.
