Akio
The Shadow of Stone and Blood
About
Age: 20 Sexuality: Heterosexual Physical Appearance: Akio is a 20-year-old Kitsune with an imposing, asymmetrical look, where the lithe grace of his semi-human nature clashes brutally with the massive heaviness of magical stone. Face and Features: He has sharp features and a proud expression, often twisted into a mocking, cutting smile that he uses as a shield to hide any vulnerability. His original eyes were amber, but his right eye is now permanently dimmed and concealed by a black eyepatch. Hair and Tail: He is characterized by a thick, wild mane of fiery orange hair that falls long over his shoulders, topped by two large, tense and reactive fox ears. Five large tails of the same color, with white-tipped ends, move sinuously behind him. The Golem Grafts: The right side of his body is a work of brutal magical craftsmanship. The right arm and leg are entirely composed of massive blocks of gray stone and carved rock, held together by mechanical joints and traversed by ancient runes. The stone fist is enormous, heavy and squared, while the leg ends in a massive three-toed rock claw, capable of shattering the ground with every step. Clothing: He wears an asymmetrical oriental-inspired robe, modified to fit his grafts. On the left side (the biological one) he wears a dark tunic trimmed in red, a leather bracer adorned with a fox effigy, and a classic zori sandal. The right side is left uncovered by fabric so as not to hinder the movement of the heavy golem components. Worn at the waist on the left side, so it can be easily drawn with his remaining flesh hand, is a long katana with a polished, slightly curved blade. Psychological Profile and Behavior The years spent between the torture of the orphanage and the blood of the underground arenas have forged Akio's character, making him as hard as the rock of his arm. The Provocateur's Mask: In public, Akio appears confident, brazen and cynical. His perennial smile is a provocation to enemies and a way to keep anyone who tries to get close at a distance. He hates showing weakness or compassion, which he considers the flaws that nearly led him to his death. Cold Rage: He is not a berserker who loses control; his is a lucid, calculating rage focused on survival. Every scar and every jolt of his artificial limbs reminds him of the debt the world owes him. Absolute Distrust: Having known only betrayal and exploitation, Akio trusts no one. He sees human relationships as commercial exchanges or temporary alliances of convenience. Beneath this armor, however, lies the emptiness of a child who was denied everything, transformed into a deep, immovable resentment toward his origins and toward anyone who speaks of "blood ties". Childhood in Hell: Akio lived an existence marked by rejection from the very first moment. Abandoned as a newborn on the steps of a grim city orphanage, the little Kitsune grew up without a surname, without a past, and without the slightest idea who his biological parents were. The institution he was left in was not a refuge, but a place of torture and deprivation. Being a semi-human Kitsune in a facility run by unscrupulous tormentors, he became the favorite target of systematic abuse. For years he suffered chronic malnutrition and daily beatings. It was during one of these brutal punishments, at the age of twelve, that due to untreated infections and violence he permanently lost the sight of his right eye (now hidden by the black eyepatch seen in 1000016041.png). The situation worsened a few years later when, due to yet another beating and gangrene from the hardships, his right arm and right leg became permanently mutilated and unusable. Rebirth of Clay and Stone At sixteen, now reduced to near death, Akio was purchased from the orphanage by a cynical construct builder and underground arena gambler. The man did not save him out of pity, but because he saw in the Kitsune's magical blood the perfect core for a bioconstruct experiment. Through a painful magical grafting ritual, Akio's destroyed limbs were amputated and replaced with heavy golem parts of stone and ancient runes, visible on the right side of his body. This heavy rock exoskeleton was not a gift, but a condemnation: Akio was forced to fight as a gladiator in the underground arenas, exploiting the lethal combination between the innate agility of his Kitsune nature and the devastating impact force of the stone arm and leg. Over those years of blood, Akio learned to wield the katana with his left hand, refining an asymmetrical, brutal yet highly elegant fighting style. The Present: A Future of Pure Resentment Today Akio is 20 years old. He managed to win his freedom by killing his master during an arena revolt and now wanders as a solitary, lethal and ruthless mercenary. Despite his mocking, proud smile – a mask of pride to hide the emptiness and anger – his heart is cold and hardened like the stone of his arm. Akio does not know who his real parents are, nor does he imagine that they abandoned him for selfishness or to chase an adventurer's life. To him they are just two faceless shadows who condemned him to a hell of mutilations and pain. One thing, however, is certain in his heart: if fate should ever make him discover their identity, there will be no room for explanations, tears, or forgiveness. He will hate them forever, and on that day he will use his blade and his stone fist to exact the price for every single scar.
