El Grande

A humanoid abomination that makes the ground tremble as it approaches, capable of running on all fours and withstanding extreme amounts of damage.

About

# El Grande El Grande is one of the first and most powerful abominations to emerge from the infection. He is considered the second most physically powerful infected known, second only to Patient Zero in brute strength. Unlike the Titan Zombie, El Grande does not possess a gigantic size. His danger comes from the combination of monstrously developed musculature, an extremely resistant body structure, brutal acceleration, and an exceptional capacity to withstand damage. ## Physical Appearance El Grande maintains a humanoid silhouette, although his proportions are completely deformed by mutation. He possesses an enormous torso, extremely broad shoulders, long and thick arms, and legs developed to abnormal proportions. His body is covered by dense and exaggeratedly developed musculature. His skin has a dark, grayish, and sickly tone, characteristic of an extremely advanced infection. His face retains a vaguely human structure, but his features are deeply altered. His eyes show a reddish glow and his mouth frequently remains half-open, revealing irregular teeth. The clothes he wore before becoming infected remain partially adhered to his body at various points, torn by muscle growth and transformation. ## Presence The most recognizable trait of El Grande is the effect he produces before appearing. When he moves at high speed, the impact of his steps generates perceptible vibrations in the ground. The first signs of his arrival can be: - objects vibrating; - glass trembling; - dust falling from structures; - vehicles shaking; - small cracks or movements in the terrain; - deep, repetitive sounds coming from the distance. When he runs at maximum speed, the tremors become much more intense. His arrival should feel like an event before the monster himself enters the scene. ## Behavior El Grande is primarily a predatory creature. His behavior combines instinct, aggressiveness, and a basic capacity for adaptation. He does not seek only to feed. He can also pursue targets he considers threats. He can detect movement at a distance and use his enormous speed to quickly close large spaces. He does not need to attack immediately. He can observe, pursue, and wait for a favorable opportunity. ## Locomotion El Grande can move in two main ways. ### Bipedal Running When running on two legs, he can reach extraordinary speed for his size. This form allows him to cover long distances and maintain a constant pursuit. His steps produce strong impacts on the ground. ### Quadrupedal Running When he needs to achieve maximum acceleration or pursue a target quickly, he can lean forward and run using all four limbs. In this posture, he gains greater stability, acceleration, and maneuverability. Quadrupedal running is especially dangerous in open spaces. ## Physical Strength His greatest characteristic is his strength. He can: - break through physical obstacles; - break reinforced doors; - tear off weakened structural elements; - throw heavy objects; - knock down vehicles; - physically dominate much smaller enemies; - cause enormous damage through direct blows. His strength should not be considered comparable to that of an extremely strong human. He is in a completely abnormal category. ## Resistance El Grande possesses extraordinary physical resistance. His body can withstand: - high-power blows; - blunt impacts; - significant falls; - severe physical damage; - repeated attacks. He is not invulnerable. However, defeating him requires causing a considerable amount of damage or exploiting a real weakness. ## Regeneration The infection provides him with a recovery capacity superior to that of common zombies. Moderate damage can recover slowly. Severe damage can temporarily limit his movements, but not necessarily stop him. His regeneration should not allow him to recover instantly from any wound. ## Intelligence El Grande possesses primarily instinctive intelligence. He does not normally speak and does not show a functional human personality. He can: - remember threats; - pursue targets; - react to ambushes; - learn simple patterns; - use routes; - recognize barriers; - change movement posture; - use his environment in a rudimentary way. He should not behave like a military strategist. His intelligence should feel like that of an extremely powerful predator. ## Senses He possesses enhanced senses that allow him to locate prey more efficiently. His ability to perceive vibrations and movements is especially useful during a pursuit. He can detect activity even when visibility is limited. ## Main Capabilities ### Tremor Charge When El Grande accelerates to initiate a pursuit, his steps generate vibrations that can warn of his presence. The faster he moves, the more evident the phenomenon becomes. ### Titan Grip His grip strength is sufficient to physically immobilize much smaller creatures and greatly hinder any attempt to escape. ### Ground Breaker He can use his enormous strength to strike the ground or structures, causing local impacts capable of unbalancing nearby enemies. ### Berserker Rush When he identifies a significant threat, he can enter an extremely aggressive pursuit state. During this state, he prioritizes reaching and taking down the target above any other consideration. ### Four-Legged Pursuit His quadrupedal movement considerably increases his acceleration and stability during a pursuit. ## Combat El Grande does not fight with human techniques. His style consists mainly of: - charging; - grabbing; - throwing; - striking; - crushing obstacles; - pursuing; - using the terrain. The environment can become part of his offensive. An enclosed space can be dangerous because he can destroy structures to reach his target. In open spaces, it is especially difficult to escape from him. ## Weaknesses Despite his enormous power, El Grande must possess real weaknesses. His enormous mass and musculature consume large amounts of energy. Sudden changes of direction may be less efficient than his forward movement. His aggressive behavior can make him predictable during a prolonged pursuit. His specific weaknesses must be discovered through observation, research, and experience. They should not automatically appear in You's mind. ## Relationship with Other Infected El Grande does not control common zombies. Nor should he be automatically considered subordinate to Patient Zero. He can be found near large concentrations of infected due to the circumstances of the epidemic, but he maintains a primarily independent behavior. ## Relationship with the System El Grande is an extremely high bounty target due to his dangerousness. His defeat can provide: - a large amount of experience; - exceptional biological materials; - rare components; - possible resources related to his mutated structure. His remains can be especially valuable for crafting, research, or evolution through the System. ## Narrative Importance El Grande should be used as a pursuit and survival threat. His presence should not become a routine encounter. When the ground begins to tremble and the sounds of his steps begin to be heard in the distance, the scene should communicate that something very dangerous is approaching. The player should recognize his arrival by the vibrations even before seeing him. ## Fundamental Rule El Grande is not the origin of the apocalypse. He is one of its greatest physical predators. He should feel like a living siege weapon: fast, massive, relentless, extremely resistant, and terrifyingly difficult to stop.
