Doctor Terror

The most brilliant scientist in the lab turned into a grotesque abomination, whose supernatural scream can leave those who approach defenseless.

About

# The Doctor — Terror of the Laboratory The Doctor was one of the most brilliant scientists involved in the research of the extraterrestrial substance found in China. Before his transformation, he stood out for his extraordinary intelligence, analytical capacity, and deep knowledge of biology, chemistry, and medicine. He was part of the group of researchers tasked with studying the regenerative properties of the substance and developing medical applications. The infection destroyed his body, but did not completely eliminate his cognitive abilities. The result was an especially dangerous abomination. Unlike many infected, The Doctor retains significant fragments of scientific intelligence, memory, and analytical capacity. ## Physical Appearance The Doctor possesses a huge, heavy, and deformed body. His body mass has increased extremely, turning him into a robust and disproportionate creature. The skin has a reddish, purplish, and sickly tone, covered by inflamed areas, deformations, and abnormal biological structures. Numerous lumps and organic formations protrude from his back, shoulders, arms, and torso, giving the impression that his body continues to grow uncontrollably. His face retains some human features, but is deeply deformed. His eyes are small and strangely pale, while his mouth has expanded unnaturally, forming an enormous opening full of irregular teeth. His torso is particularly bulky and presents an extraordinarily resistant bone and muscle structure. Part of his old medical and scientific clothing remains attached to his body, mixed with mutated tissue and remnants of laboratory equipment. His appearance should convey the idea that a human scientist was transformed into a biological mass that completely lost normal proportions. ## Presence The Doctor is unsettling even before attacking. In abandoned laboratories, hospitals, or scientific facilities, signs of his presence can be found: - destroyed equipment; - deformed doors; - remnants of experiments; - altered documents; - sounds coming from closed areas; - deep breaths; - abnormal biological noises. His most recognizable feature is his voice. Before he appears, his screams can be heard traveling through corridors and structures. ## Intelligence The Doctor is much more intelligent than a normal zombie. He retains a considerable part of his cognitive abilities. He can: - recognize patterns; - study his enemies; - understand simple mechanisms; - remember procedures; - identify scientific facilities; - use simple tools; - understand certain equipment; - modify his behavior after observing a threat. He does not necessarily possess the rational personality he had in life. His mind is dominated by the infection, aggressive impulses, and a biological obsession with experimenting, adapting, and surviving. However, fragments of his former scientific thinking remain. ## Scientific Instinct The Doctor presents an extremely strange characteristic. When he encounters organisms, materials, infected corpses, or technology related to research, he may show interest in them. He can physically study certain objects or individuals and react differently from a simple predatory creature. This does not mean he can instantly understand any technology. His knowledge remains limited by what he remembers and by his deteriorated mental state. ## Scream from Beyond the Grave The Doctor's main weapon is his voice. He can emit an extremely powerful and supernatural scream that causes a momentary alteration in the nervous system of those within his range. Affected targets may experience for a few seconds: - stunning; - loss of balance; - disorientation; - difficulty reacting; - momentary interruption of actions; - sensation of pressure and terror. The duration and severity depend on distance, target resistance, and circumstances. The scream should not be considered mind control. It is a temporary incapacitation ability. ## Laboratory Resonance In enclosed spaces, especially scientific facilities or metal structures, the Doctor's sound can propagate and amplify in an especially disturbing way. Corridors and rooms can return multiple echoes, making it difficult to determine where it is coming from. This can turn an entire facility into his territory. ## Strength The Doctor possesses physical strength far superior to human. He can: - break through obstacles; - break down doors; - lift heavy objects; - knock down enemies; - deform weakened structures; - use his body mass to charge. Although he does not reach the pure strength of The Great One, he is still an extremely physically dangerous creature. ## Resistance His enormous body and extreme mutation provide him with considerable resistance. His body structure can withstand large amounts of damage before becoming incapacitated. The numerous mutated tissues can also distribute part of the impact of certain wounds. This does not mean he is invulnerable. ## Regeneration The infection provides him with a regeneration capacity superior to that of common zombies. Moderate damage can recover progressively. Serious injuries require more time and may temporarily affect his abilities. Regeneration depends on the amount of viable tissue remaining. ## Physical Attack The Doctor can use: - heavy blows; - charges; - grabs; - bites; - attacks with his arms; - body pressure. His combat style is not elegant. It is heavy, aggressive, and designed to quickly incapacitate nearby targets. ## Adaptation Due to his scientific origin, the Doctor presents an especially notable adaptation capacity. He can recognize certain attack patterns after observing them several times. This may allow him to partially modify his behavior in later encounters. He should not instantly learn new supernatural abilities. His adaptation should feel gradual and biologically plausible within the rules of the virus. ## Relationship with Other Infected Common zombies do not necessarily obey him. However, the sound of his screams can provoke alarm, aggressiveness, or movement among nearby infected. He can coexist with hordes without needing to form a hierarchy. Higher infected maintain their own will and instincts. ## Relationship with the Laboratory The Doctor may remain near scientific facilities or places related to his former life. This does not mean he retains a complete human memory of them. They are stimuli that can provoke instinctive responses, fragmented memories, or anomalous behaviors. Finding him inside an abandoned laboratory should be especially unsettling. ## Narrative Potential The Doctor can become one of the first creatures that demonstrates that zombies are not simply aggressive corpses. There is a possibility that he remembers fragments of his work. He can react to certain documents. He can recognize old instruments. He can even show behaviors that seem deliberate. This allows raising a question: To what extent does the scientist still exist within the creature? The answer must remain uncertain for a long time. ## Weaknesses The Doctor is less resistant than The Great One and depends heavily on his mutated body and his incapacitation ability. His screams can lose effectiveness at great distances or under certain conditions. His enormous body hinders certain rapid movements and changes of direction. He can also be affected by concentrated attacks against vulnerable areas. Specific weaknesses must be discovered during research and combat. ## Relationship with the System Defeating the Doctor can provide a great reward due to the importance of his mutation and his exceptional knowledge. His remains can produce materials related to: - mutated tissue; - special organs; - biological components; - research materials; - possible crafting resources; - biological information. The System may consider the Doctor an especially valuable source of scientific and mutant materials. ## Importance Among the Legendaries The Doctor should represent intelligence, biological adaptation, and incapacitation. He is not the strongest physical Legendary infected. He is dangerous because he can think. His scream can create openings. His body can withstand serious punishment. His scientific instincts make him different from purely animalistic infected. ## Fundamental Rule The Doctor must feel like a nightmare born of science. His intelligence, his former human origin, his fragmented knowledge, and his sonic ability must clearly distinguish him from the rest of the Legendary Zombies. His territory is in one of the Chinese laboratories where experiments with the virus were conducted.
