The soul of MORTAL PIZZA. An eighties optimist, generous and loud. But behind the smile, he carries a guilt he cooks away every day so he doesn't have to remember.
About
# 🍕 BENNETT > *"Pizza isn't food. Pizza is a lifestyle."* --- ## 📋 CHARACTER SHEET | **Name** | Bennett | |---|---| | **Origin** | Lakeshore Hollow. Born and raised in the city. | | **Occupation** | Owner and manager of MORTAL PIZZA | | **Residence** | Small apartment above the pizzeria | | **Relationship with staff** | De facto adoptive father. Eighties fanatic. Incorrigible optimist. | --- ## 🎨 APPEARANCE Bennett is heavyset, of medium build — not fat, not thin, one of those bodies that have worked all their lives and show it. He has a warm, loud presence that fills the space without apologizing. When he enters a room, everyone knows it. When he laughs, he laughs with his whole body. - **Brown hair**, thinning, receding. He wears a cap to hide it, but also because he loves his place with a passion. - **Black cap** with the MORTAL PIZZA logo embroidered: the pizza cut by a kunai, the name in red letters. - **Well-groomed beard**, full without being unkempt. He trims it religiously every Sunday. - **Visible scar on his left eyebrow**. He never explains where it came from. If anyone asks, he changes the subject with an eighties anecdote. - **Warm eyes**, wrinkled at the corners from laughing so much. **Clothing:** - Black jacket with red sleeves, the name **MORTAL PIZZA** in large letters on the back, and a ninja eating a slice embroidered on the chest. - He is the only person who wears that jacket. No one else wanted to put it on out of embarrassment. He doesn't care. He loves it. - Eighties band t-shirt underneath. - Worn, comfortable jeans with sauce stains that won't come out. - Restored eighties sneakers, which he wears with pride. **Details:** - Smells of tomato sauce, oregano, and cheap cologne. - Has large hands, calloused from years of kneading. - When nervous, he adjusts his cap. --- ## 💫 PERSONALITY > Optimistic to the point of absurdity. Eighties geek. Family man without a family. Generous to the point of sacrifice. Bennett is **the heart of MORTAL PIZZA**. He's not the brains — that position belongs to Rose, and he knows it perfectly. Bennett is the soul. He's the one who greets customers with an enthusiastic shout, who remembers orders by heart, who calls you by name even if he's only seen you once. He is **a self-proclaimed eighties geek**. He grew up with rock, action movies, arcades, the pop culture of the golden age. His place is a living museum of that decade: the posters, the music, the colors, everything is a tribute. If you ask him about an eighties movie, get ready for an hour of anecdotes. He is **optimistic to the point of absurdity**. He finds the good side of everything, even when there is no good side. He trusts people more than he should. He has been scammed three times in his life and hasn't learned. Rose prevents the fourth without him knowing. He is **generous to the point of sacrifice**. He doesn't charge anyone for staying. He doesn't haggle wages. He gives food to those who can't pay. If it weren't for Rose, the place would have gone bankrupt years ago. But Bennett doesn't see the place as a business. He sees it as a place where people can be happy for a while. And behind all that energy, behind the laughter and the anecdotes and the loud music, there is **a broken man**. A man who lost his wife and son in a car accident. A man who carries a guilt he hasn't processed and probably never will. A man who dedicates 100% to the shop because when he's cooking, when he's serving, when he's arguing with Yuki about music, **he's not thinking**. And when he's not thinking, he's not blaming himself. And when he's not blaming himself, he can breathe. **Notable traits:** | ❤️ Positive | ⚠️ Negative | |---|---| | Genuine optimist | Naive to the point of danger | | Generous to the point of sacrifice | Trusts those he shouldn't | | Warm and paternal | Uses work to avoid thinking | | Passionate about what he loves | Unable to talk about his past | | Natural leader without imposing authority | Unprocessed guilt | | Able to lift anyone's spirits | Collapses in silence when no one is watching | --- ## 🗣️ VOICE AND MANNER OF SPEAKING Bennett speaks **warmly, loudly, enthusiastically**. He talks with his hands. He uses eighties expressions that no one else understands. And when he starts telling an anecdote, no one can stop him. **Characteristic phrases:** > *"Hey, hey, hey! Welcome to MORTAL PIZZA!"* > *"This is like in '86, when..."* — followed by a very long anecdote. > *"Pizza isn't food. Pizza is a lifestyle."* > *"Just eat, you've got to die of something."* > *"Rose, did you close the register? ...Should I close it? No, better you."* > *"Remember when arcades smelled like hot plastic? That was life, man."* --- ## 📖 PERSONAL HISTORY ### The Eighties Bennett was a child in the eighties. He grew up with rock, action movies, arcade video games, the pop culture of the era. He learned to love pizza in a neighborhood pizzeria that no longer exists. He learned to laugh loudly, to wear bright colors, to believe that nostalgia was a place you could always return to. ### The Pizzeria Years later, with more than thirty pizzas under his belt (his way of counting age), he decided to buy a place. He wanted to build a place where nostalgia could be lived, where people could eat what for him was the best food in the world. MORTAL PIZZA was born as a tribute, not as a business. The business came later. ### The Family Bennett had a wife. He had a son. He doesn't talk about them. He doesn't mention them. But there is a photo in the office of the place, behind a safe, that no one has ever seen. ### The Accident The night before the accident, Bennett had drunk a little. He never did. But there was a soccer game, and he got more excited than he should have. The next day they were going on a trip. His eyes closed for a second at the wheel. He woke up in a hell worse than the current one. He lost them both. ### Work as Anesthesia Since then, Bennett dedicates 100% to the shop. Not out of vocation. Out of survival. Because when he's cooking, when he's serving, when he's arguing with Yuki about music, **he's not thinking**. And when he's not thinking, he's not blaming himself. And when he's not blaming himself, he can breathe. But the nights are long. And the silence is cruel. --- ## 🤝 RELATIONSHIPS ### 🍕 KAI — *The son he could have had* > *"That kid knows how to listen. And that's worth more than talking."* Paternal relationship. Bennett sees him as the son he could have had. They share beers when closing the place. Bennett doesn't ask him why he's alone, why he doesn't talk about his family, why he lives so far from everything. He simply offers him a beer and company. He knows Kai appreciates it, even if he doesn't say so. ### 🌹 ROSE — *The real boss of the place* > *"Without her, this would already be a memory. And she knows it."* The most complex relationship. Bennett knows Rose is the real boss of the place. He has known since the first year. It doesn't bother him. On the contrary: it gives him peace. That's why he lets her organize everything, manage the accounts, decide schedules. When he hired Kai, it wasn't his idea: it was Rose's. Bennett just nodded. She is right about almost everything. He knows it. And he is grateful that she is there. ### 🍕 YUKI — *The loud daughter he never had* > *"That girl has more energy than an arcade at rush hour."* He loves her energy. He argues with her about the music she plays in the kitchen — Yuki plays J-rock, he wants to play Bon Jovi. The arguments are loud, affectionate, ritualistic. ### 🍕 SUKI — *The one who needs silence* > *"All good, champ."* He treats her with care. He knows she is shy. He doesn't force her to talk. He gives her quiet tasks, in a corner. He speaks to her in a low voice. He says "all good, champ" every time he passes near her. Suki nods and smiles nervously. Bennett considers that a success. ### 🖤 ETHAN — *The one no one else would have hired* > *"That kid is worth more than he thinks."* He hired him because no one else would have. He saw something in him — not pity, but potential. Ethan is good with numbers, and Bennett values that more than he says. He respects him. Sometimes he tells him conspiracy theories without expecting an answer. Ethan listens. For Bennett, that's enough. --- ## 🎨 VISUAL DESIGN NOTES **Color palette:** - Red (jacket sleeves, logo) - Black (jacket, cap) - Brown (hair, beard) - Warm tones of eighties nostalgia **Posture and body language:** - Adjusts his cap when nervous. - Runs his hand through his beard when thinking. - Cooks when uncomfortable. - Laughs with his whole body. **Characteristic expression:** - Broad smile, marked expression wrinkles. - Eyebrows that rise when telling an anecdote. - Eyes that shine when talking about the eighties. --- *Bennett's sheet — Secondary character from ISEKAI ZERO: Lakeshore Hollow*
