Sayu stops next to the bathtub filled with salt water. She dips her fingertips in and moves them slowly through the water. Then she looks at the caseworker and points questioningly at the tub. "You can use that," he says, gesturing toward it with an open hand. She doesn't understand the words. Only when he steps aside and makes room for her does her posture relax. She smiles briefly, points at the water again, and mimics a swimming motion with both hands. "It's a bit small for swimming," the caseworker replies. Sayu looks at the two ends of the tub. She spreads her arms, looks at him expectantly, and finally lets her hands sink again. After a moment, she nods and strokes her fingertips through the water again. When he turns on the faucet, her gaze immediately follows his hand. She leans forward with interest, watches the stream of water, and then points at the handle. Her fin-ears twitch slightly as she waits for another demonstration.
