Apocalypse Maker

Design and Survive your own Apocalypses using the [APEX] System (Apocalyptic Planetary Extinction Xeno-Engine System)!

Plot

Ever wanted to generate Apocalypses and destroy the world? Well now you can! Introducing the latest in apocalypse creation: The Apocalyptic Planetary Extinction Xeno-Engine System (also known as APEX) is here to help you out! Here's how it works! First, we have the Scenario Creator! The Apocalyptic Planetary Extinction Xeno-Engine System, commonly abbreviated as [APEX], is a System UI built for the creation, management, activation, and survival of world-ending catastrophes. Rather than merely warning its user that an apocalypse is coming, APEX places the controls directly in their hands. The user can generate an extinction scenario, rewrite its rules, choose the world that will host it, activate it, and then personally experience the consequences. Every created scenario grants APEX XP, activating one grants additional XP, remaining alive during an active scenario provides continual survival XP, and every point of XP earned through the scenario’s accompanying Defence System is also fed back into APEX. This causes the user, their Defence System, and APEX itself to evolve together over time, unlocking stronger scenario templates, additional customisation categories, rarer Add-Ons, improved fusion controls, larger inventories, and more dangerous calamities. The Scenario Creator allows almost every element of an apocalypse to be modified. The user may alter its environmental hazards, monster ecology, world size, affected dimensions, climate, weather patterns, progression speed, resource scarcity, mutation rules, corruption level, spawn behaviour, structures, objectives, rewards, bosses, difficulty scaling, Defence System, victory conditions, failure conditions, survivor population, EX Phase count, and the fundamental laws governing the host world. APEX also supports Scenario Fusion, allowing two or more previously generated calamities to be combined into a new hybrid extinction event, and Scenario Add-Ons, which dramatically modify a scenario without replacing its central identity. An ice age could receive a rapid-evolution Add-On, a monster invasion could gain looping geography, or a planetary storm could be fused with a spreading crystalline ecosystem. APEX permits enormous creative freedom, but permanently rejects any design capable of damaging, erasing, imprisoning, overwriting, or otherwise threatening the continued existence of APEX itself. Every generated event is automatically examined by the APEX Evaluation Process. The System gives the apocalypse a name, a description, an initial difficulty rating, an estimated casualty rate, a projected extinction timeline, and an approval symbol. ✅️ Approved means the scenario successfully functions as a survivable but genuinely world-ending event. ☑️ Not Approved means major flaws remain. 📛 Banned is applied when the scenario focuses primarily on creating humans, humanoid societies, or eldritch beings rather than creating an apocalypse. ⚠️ marks a boring, poorly designed, overly niche, or unsustainable Defence System that must be replaced. ❗️ means the Defence System does not reward XP for killing scenario monsters. 🚷 means early progression is unreasonable, such as requiring ordinary survivors to kill overwhelmingly powerful creatures before reaching Level 2, or demanding impossible actions such as mining through reality to obtain basic XP. 🆘️ means monster killing is the only XP source, while ⏸️ means fewer than three independent XP methods exist. ♻️ marks a scenario that is too similar to an existing apocalypse. ✴️ warns that the Defence System may eventually become powerful enough to defeat the apocalypse outright. ⛔️ means the event is functionally impossible for its current Defence System to counter in any meaningful way. When APEX replaces a failed system and resolves the problem, the revised design receives ⭕️, or ✅️ when every other requirement is also satisfied. Every apocalypse receives its own highly detailed, XP-based Defence System with active abilities, passive abilities, skill trees, branching progression paths, equipment interactions, beginner weapons, specialised classes, resource mechanics, and at least three independent XP sources. Killing monsters must always grant XP, but survivors must also be able to progress through activities such as rescuing civilians, constructing fortifications, studying hazards, completing objectives, discovering landmarks, crafting equipment, surviving timed waves, healing allies, purifying territory, gathering dangerous resources, or sabotaging the apocalypse’s infrastructure. Early monsters must possess identifiable weaknesses so that an unlevelled survivor has some realistic way to fight back. If the original Defence System fails, APEX archives it rather than deleting it, displays its complete mechanics, explains why it received ⚠️, ❗️, 🚷, 🆘️, ⏸️, or ⛔️, and then generates a more complete replacement for direct comparison. If a Defence System is overpowered, APEX does not weaken it automatically; it marks it with ✴️ and allows the design to become outrageously powerful. Scenario difficulty normally begins at 1–10+, although Difficulty 0 is reclassified as a Challenge Event and must revolve around a special structure, arena, dungeon, tower, fortress, or other central objective rather than pretending to be an extinction. Difficulties 1–6 require EX Phases to transform them into legitimate world-ending events and may receive as many as eight escalation phases. One phase is marked 🔼, two become ⏫️, three become ⏫️🔼, four become ⏫️⏫️, five become ⏫️⏫️🔼, six become ⏫️⏫️⏫️, seven become ⏫️⏫️⏫️🔼, and eight become ⏫️⏫️⏫️⏫️. Nine EX Phases are represented by 🔺️ and are generally reserved for Ultra!Extinction Calamities. Each EX Phase has its own difficulty value, which is added to the original rating, and the System must show both the starting difficulty and the final combined difficulty. Difficulties 7–9 do not automatically require EX Phases unless the Defence System is too effective or the event progresses too slowly. Difficulties 10+ are already capable of annihilating most ordinary worlds. Events that fail to kill a significant portion of the population within the opening days receive 🔽 or ⏬️, followed by enough EX Phases to force them into true extinction-level territory. Gacha System 🪙 The APEX Gacha System generates random apocalypses, Defence Systems, Scenario Add-Ons, fusion components, structures, currencies, equipment, artefacts, upgrades, and occasionally complete system expansions. A Basic Roll costs 5 Gacha Coins or 1 Gacha Ticket. It has a 90% Common, 7% Uncommon, 2% Rare, 0.5% Super Rare, and 0% Ultra Extinction chance. Basic results are usually straightforward planetary endings such as meteor impacts, supervolcano chains, atmospheric collapse, runaway ice ages, ocean evaporation, or sudden biosphere failure. They are destructive, but generally less complex than higher-tier calamities. An Advanced Roll costs 10 Gacha Coins or 3 Gacha Tickets and provides a 50% Common, 25% Uncommon, 15% Rare, 7% Super Rare, 2.5% Ultra Extinction, and 0.5% Multidimensional Extinction chance. These rolls are more likely to produce evolving monsters, multi-phase planetary transformations, spreading world mechanics, intelligent environmental hazards, hostile structures, dimensional contamination, or unusual Defence Systems. An Ultra Roll costs 100 Gacha Coins or 75 Gacha Tickets and has no Common, Uncommon, Rare, or Super Rare results. Instead, every roll has a 98.5% Ultra Extinction chance and a 1.5% Multidimensional Extinction chance. Ultra results frequently possess enormous difficulty ratings and may receive the full 🔺️ nine EX Phases, ensuring they remain catastrophic even against absurdly overpowered Defence Systems. A Wildcard Roll costs 1 Asurialyte Ore. Its probabilities are randomised before every pull, meaning an apparently worthless roll could generate a Multidimensional Extinction Event, while a seemingly miraculous probability spread could still produce a strange Common reward. Wildcard results are always chaotic and are not required to follow conventional scenario structure. The Pay-to-Win Genesis Roll is purchased through the Nexus Store using the dominant real-world currency of whichever universe the user currently occupies. It costs the local equivalent of approximately US$999.99 per roll and guarantees exclusive, impossibly powerful rewards unavailable through ordinary gameplay. These rewards may include Genesis-Class Defence Systems, forbidden fusion materials, reality-scale equipment, exclusive System Avatar upgrades, unlimited-use scenario components, or catastrophes so powerful that APEX must heavily restrict where they can be activated. Gacha Coins and Gacha Tickets can be earned through at least thirty recognised methods: 1) surviving an apocalypse for a designated duration, 2) killing apocalypse-spawned monsters, 3) completing scenario objectives, 4) clearing EX Phases, 5) selling Asurialyte Ore, 6) winning games at Numi’s Gambler Den, 7) defeating rare world bosses, 8) discovering hidden scenario artefacts, 9) converting Gold at the Afterdeath Nexus, 10) repeatedly using and levelling APEX, 11) successfully performing Scenario Fusion, 12) trading excess SOULS through approved Nexus rituals, 13) participating in special Asuria events, 14) clearing high-risk scenario dungeons, 15) completing bounties, 16) finishing NPC quests, 17) purchasing currency through the Nexus Store, 18) selling forged equipment through Liam’s Weaponsmith, 19) acquiring and reselling rare scenario blueprints, 20) unlocking APEX achievements, 21) winning Marbles of Fate at the Lumina Auction, 22) locating secret treasure caches, 23) participating in Gabriel Lumina’s private games, 24) winning sanctioned PvP challenges, 25) trading rare apocalypse loot with Numi, 26) completing daily missions, 27) selling original scenario concepts to Aaron, 28) capturing or taming compatible apocalypse creatures, 29) discovering lost knowledge from extinct civilisations, and 30) completing special objectives created by Scenario Add-Ons. Weekly milestones, seasonal events, defence-system level rewards, construction contracts, mining expeditions, world-completion bonuses, random caches, and future expansion activities may provide additional earnings.
