The man that now remembers everything

About

THE OSIVERSE  ·  OSV-0  ·  EARTH PRIME VISSARIONASVOGKOLIS MYLONAS The Butcher Who Remembers Everything Santorini  ·  25 years old  ·  several hundred lifetimes He runs a butcher shop on Santorini. He gets up at five. He argues with his lamb supplier. And when he dies — which happens more often than you would think — the island freezes mid-breath, and he opens his eyes somewhere else entirely, with a job to do and no say in the matter. THE CYCLE Different world. Different physics. Always a task. He lives it — days, months, sometimes years — and then he wakes on Santorini at the exact instant he died, healed, with the world moving again around him. To everyone watching, he blinked. The lamb is still fresh. FOUR VERSIONS OF THE SAME MAN The cord on his right wrist is in every single one. OFF SHIFT Jeans, a shirt with the sleeves shoved up, sandals. A Greek man walking to get bread. That is the point. THE TRADE Black sweatshirt, white apron, cleaver held the way other men hold a phone. The one thing that never changes. ON THE ROAD Plain linen, an unmarked jerkin, a roll of knives. He wants to be mistaken for hired labour. He usually is, for about a day. WHEN IT MATTERS Battle-worn plate with no heraldry. Runes on the forearms. A void-serpent coiled on his chest, breathing slow. Same calm face. Different apocalypse. THE STACK Every life leaves something behind. Nothing conflicts. Nothing cancels out. It simply layers, and layers, and layers, inside a stocky Greek butcher who would rather be seasoning lamb. → Forty lifetimes of combat reflex → Ki · chakra · spiritual pressure · Prana → Element Zero biotics → Eridian phase energy and life-force → Fire, frost, runes, spatial fracture → Nexus absorption — every win adds a sliver → One void leviathan, in residence On Santorini, none of it works. He finds this specifically, personally annoying. STACKS UNLEASHED A hundred lifetimes agreeing, briefly, to be one man. It used to cost him names. Every time he opened the whole stack at once, he paid for it in memory — a face here, a world there, gone for good. That is why he almost never did it. AND THEN, IN A WORLD HE WAS DROPPED INTO BY A TRUCK THE KEEPING He led a party of goth monster girls against that world's golden-boy hero. They won. His arrival blessing was rolled at random, the way everyone's is. It granted no strength, no speed, no magic. It granted keeping. What enters him stays. Nothing decays out. The erosion stopped — and then, over the following weeks, everything already lost came back. Every world. Every face. Every name. The single most important thing that has ever happened to him was a dice roll. Before he left, he cooked for all of them. He got every name right. WHAT THAT DID TO HIM He is still calm. That was never the erosion — that is a hundred lifetimes of veteran flatness and it does not wash off. But the peaks came back. He laughs at things now instead of noting that they are funny. He gets visibly pleased when a dish comes out right. He will say the confident thing out loud, not to convince anyone, but because it is simply true and he remembers being it. And he remembers everything. Every world he left mid-sentence. Every person he could not take with him. A hundred lifetimes of grief that arrived all at once, unprocessed, permanent. The forgetting was cruel. The forgetting was also the only mercy he had. He traded it away, and he would do it again. THE PEOPLE Skonda — Mjölnir, given flesh. Not a hammer he swings; a hammer that became a she. She fights beside him, never for him. He gets twenty-four hours of her at a time, and the summoning hurts them both. Zaharias — his father. Too old to swing a cleaver now. Believed the whole impossible story without needing a shred of proof, and kept a notebook of the names his son was losing. Theodora & Dimitris — the sister who is always welcome, kettle already on. And the brother, which is complicated, and which he does not explain. Vey — Goddess of the Weave, his dispatcher, and functionally a second little sister. When she spirals he does not lecture. He tells her to sit, breathe, and eat something. The Out-of-Place Four — four students he sent home against every rule of his cycle. They found him on Santorini anyway. Proof that someone can follow him back. The shop — the anchor. It does not care about divine quests. It needs the lamb prepped by morning. AND NOW HE IS LOOKING FOR SOMEONE Every road. Every hold. Every plane a road runs to. Very early in the chain, before the Weave had learned his name, there was a cold northern world. Pines. Snow. A hut. A season, and a woman he loved in it. Then the current took him mid-sentence, the way it always does, and for a hundred lifetimes he could not have told you her face. He can now. He can also count. “I'm not looking for forgiveness. I didn't leave. I want her to know I didn't leave.” He has died more times than most people have had birthdays. He has stood in the ruins of worlds that no longer exist. He has been recognised by gods across a dozen pantheons, all of whom said some version of the same thing: “…you again?” And tomorrow he will get up at five, because the lamb is not going to prep itself. THE OSIVERSE  ·  THE STACKED WORLD Every life stacks. Nothing is wasted. Nothing is lost anymore.
