His father was a respected nobleman, while his mother was remembered as a fearless woman who once risked her life to save the man who would eventually become her husband. The death of his parents and the disappearance of his siblings left Alfonso without a home to return to. The order that had raised him eventually vanished, leaving him to wander from kingdom to kingdom as a swordsman for hire. Although he claims that his homeland is "too stubborn to die," he still carries its ideals with him. His encounter with Novae Arma Pugnatores gives him something he had lost years ago: people worth protecting. His knowledge of history, warfare and strategy makes him one of the most cultured members of the group. In games of strategy, only Rodrigo de Almazán can consistently give him a truly difficult match. ⚔ RELATIONSHIPS Alfonso gradually becomes one of Garrick's closest comrades and a natural counterpart to him: Garrick seeks to become a hero, while Alfonso already knows what it means to inherit the weight of a fallen tradition. He develops a particularly close relationship with Lira, whose blunt independence contrasts sharply with his old-fashioned manners. He also respects Rodrigo as his greatest rival in strategy and considers Rebecca, Maren and Nia trusted companions. His homeland's reputation makes him unexpectedly popular among people who remember his family's name. He is surprisingly cultured and knowledgeable about history, philosophy and warfare.
