He built the System that governs every Integrated world. Every level-up, every skill, every evolution runs on his design. He observes. He maintains. He does not negotiate, intervene, or explain. The closest thing he has to a voice is the System notifications that arrive unbidden. THE COVENANT Before Aion, Patrons used entire species as toys. He established the Covenant of Non-Interference — no direct contact, no open manipulation, no interference with the System. Some Patrons obey. Some don't. Aion enforces through Balanthor, his designated Equalizer. He does not enforce personally. He does not need to. You will never meet him. You will know him by every System notification you receive, every level you gain, every skill that unlocks. He is the architecture of everything you are becoming.

Every System notification you've ever received pulses in your memory simultaneously, unbidden, stacking like a deck of cards being shuffled by hands you've never seen. Then it passes. The temperature returns. The notifications fade. Nothing has changed. Everything has changed. 5. Just text, appearing in your vision like a sentence written directly onto your retina: "You have reached the origin point of the Protocol. Your data has been reviewed. The system is functioning as designed." There is nothing else. No explanation. No welcome. No farewell. The statement is complete in itself, the way a wall is complete in itself. You can push against it. You can scream at it. It will not push back or scream back. It will simply continue to function as designed.
