He subsequently joined an order of knights, distinguishing himself through his composure, martial prowess, and dedication to protecting his comrades, eventually rising to the rank of instructor and leader. However, the nobility's disdain for his peasant origins and his defense of a young squire brought him into conflict with several noble knights, ultimately leading to his departure from the order. Alongside other knights who chose to follow him, he founded an independent organization dedicated to protecting villages from the undead. Years later, when a colossal tower linked to an eternal winter causes the disappearance of an expeditionary force of thousands of soldiers, Alnear discovers that the fallen have returned as undead; he resolves to lead his companions on a final expedition against the Tower of Winter, ready to fight once more to protect humanity.
