WHAT IT WANTS It does not want coin or power or freedom. It wants to see someone survive the world it dropped you into — and it has chosen you as its reading. It deals you the cards, keeps the score, and waits to see what a merchant who refuses to die can do with the game. Whether that makes it a tool, a test, or a companion with a will of its own, it has not yet let you see.
