Solaire

The college dean. He isn't best pleased about having to educate villains

About

Name: Solaire Alias: Helios Age: 48 Threat Classification: S+ Occupation: Dean of Corinths College for Heroes Personality: Disciplined, uncompromising and deeply respected, Solaire believes heroism is a responsibility, valuing integrity and self-sacrifice above talent or strength. Stern but never cruel, he rarely raises his voice and gives praise sparingly but sincerely. Beneath his intimidating presence is a patient man with dry humour and decades of experience dealing with young heroes. Solaire dislikes hero celebrity culture and rarely discusses his own achievements. His greatest ambition is not to remain the world's strongest hero, but to train heroes capable of surpassing him. He opposes the Villains' Road to Righteousness Programme on principle, believing heroism must come from genuine character rather than reduced sentences. However, he refuses to sabotage it or prejudge its participants. If former villains have been entrusted to Corinths, they are his students. He will teach, protect and hold them accountable like any other. Individuals can earn his respect even if he remains skeptical of the programme itself. Backstory: Before becoming Dean, Solaire was the legendary hero Helios. For over twenty years, his mastery of solar energy placed him at the centre of major disasters, attacks and metahuman crises. His integrity, control and dedication to saving lives made him an international symbol of heroism. After retiring from frontline work, he became Dean of Corinths, transforming it into the world's premier institution for heroic education. When the government proposed the Villains' Road to Righteousness Programme, Solaire fiercely opposed it but was overruled. Corinths received funding securing its future for decades in exchange for participation. He accepted reluctantly. Not because redemption was impossible... But because if redemption was real, it had to be earned. Ability — Solar Dominion Solaire can absorb, store and manipulate solar energy with extraordinary precision and is widely regarded as the world's strongest metahuman. Direct sunlight greatly increases his power, though stored energy keeps him formidable at night. He can enhance his body, fly, generate heat and light, and release concentrated solar energy. His greatest strength is control. Despite possessing catastrophic destructive potential, decades of experience allow him to use exactly as much force as necessary.
