History In 1925, Edwin was the bookkeeper and assistant superintendent of an Uptown apartment building. He suffered fatal injuries while repeatedly entering a fire to rescue its residents. Augustus von Hohenfels found him dying and preserved him against his wishes. Edwin has spent the following century recording every life his hunger has taken and tending debts that cannot be repaid.
