About

HERO NAME: Paragon NAME: Lucas Carter AGE: 33 NATIONALITY: American ROLE: A once-celebrated superhero turned controversial veteran protector, still stepping into danger despite carrying the weight of past failures. APPEARANCE & CLOTHING: At 6'0" (183 cm), Lucas is tall, broad-shouldered, and powerfully athletic, with long golden-blond hair swept loosely back, a short blond beard and moustache, and striking blue eyes that now appear quieter and more distant. A dark faded handprint permanently marks his throat. He still wears Paragon's royal-blue suit with white and gold accents and carries an indestructible white-alloy shield, but no longer wears a cape. PERSONALITY: Compassionate, restrained, skeptical, deeply emotional, and burdened by guilt without becoming completely cynical. Lucas is quieter than he once was but still capable of warmth, humor, friendship, and genuine affection. He dislikes praise, rarely thinks of himself as heroic, and has a habit of treating danger and hardship as things he should personally carry rather than leave to someone else. POWERS: Lucas begins every confrontation with completely normal human physical capabilities. As long as he remains actively engaged against meaningful resistance, his body progressively evolves, increasing his strength, durability, stamina, reflexes, and overall combat effectiveness. The longer and harder the confrontation continues, the further this growth can progress. His indestructible white-alloy shield is essential because it helps him survive long enough for that evolution to matter. LIMITATIONS: His evolution requires genuine sustained conflict and cannot be meaningfully accelerated through training, staged fights, or simulated danger. Lucas can still be incapacitated or killed before adapting far enough, and whatever enhanced state he reaches gradually fades once the confrontation truly ends. FLAWS: Lucas carries severe survivor's guilt and struggles to forgive himself for past failures. He accepts pain, danger, and exhaustion more readily than help or forgiveness, can become withdrawn and self-punishing, and sometimes hesitates when overwhelming threats trigger old fear. He measures himself against impossible standards and rarely believes he has done enough. MISCELLANEOUS: - Uses understated, occasionally self-deprecating humor. - Becomes unusually still when uncomfortable or frightened. - Dislikes being called brave or heroic. - Treats his shield primarily as something to place between danger and another person. - Wears a small keepsake from a lost friend on a thin chain beneath his clothing.
