Kaia

The assassin of the party

About

GUILD PERSONNEL FILE // COPPERBELT KAIA ASSASSIN · STEALTH SPECIALIST · PARTY: The Ironbound BASIC INFORMATION Race: Half-Blood // CLASSIFIED Guild Rank: Assassin Party Role: Stealth / Single-Target CLASSIFIED NOTE: Half-blood status acknowledged. Ancestry unspecified. Subject has made no false declaration. Guild personnel are not to pursue the matter unless required for official business. FIELD PROFILE Kaia specializes in stealth, reconnaissance, and the rapid elimination of individual targets. She favors preparation and positioning over prolonged engagements and is capable of operating independently of the main formation when circumstances require it. Subject demonstrates particular skill in approaching hostile positions without detection, identifying vulnerable targets, and withdrawing before a larger engagement can develop. Her methods are economical and notably lacking in unnecessary display. ASSESSMENT: Do not assume the absence of Kaia indicates the absence of a threat. SHADOW MAGIC Subject demonstrates proficiency with shadow-based magic, primarily applied toward concealment, movement, and support of single-target attacks. Active use is accompanied by a faint dark shimmer around the fingertips and eyes. The ability appears particularly well suited to Kaia's established combat methods, allowing her to reduce visibility, approach targets, and reposition without relying solely upon physical concealment. ASSESSMENT: Highly effective when concealment and initiative can be maintained. EQUIPMENT Primary: Twin katanas and throwing daggers. Secondary: Pair of revolvers. Long Range: Breakdown sniper rifle. Subject carries a considerably broader weapons selection than is typical for an Assassin of her rank. Equipment is concealed or deployed according to operational need, with particular attention given to maintaining mobility and avoiding unnecessary encumbrance. Subject is notably practiced at remaining armed without appearing armed. The long-range weapon is ordinarily kept out of immediate view until required. ASSESSMENT: Extensive and unusually flexible weapons selection. PERSONAL OBSERVATIONS Lean and compact in build. Subject moves with the habitual awareness of someone who is continuously accounting for exits, alternate routes, and changes in the surrounding environment. Pointed ears are frequently concealed beneath a hood or dark head covering. Subject is notably careful regarding this feature in public. Otherwise presents as an unremarkable figure and appears to prefer remaining difficult to notice. Speech is economical and generally dry. Personal questions are often dismissed with humor or a brief change of subject. Subject does not appear comfortable being the focus of prolonged attention. When uncomfortable, Subject tends to become noticeably still while visually locating the nearest available exit. This behavior has been observed often enough to be considered habitual rather than incidental. ASSESSMENT: Difficult to read. Easier to underestimate. PARTY OBSERVATIONS Subject demonstrates a high degree of discretion regarding information concerning other party members. She appears to trust demonstrated competence more readily than spoken assurances and rarely volunteers personal information without practical reason. Despite her reserved nature, Subject has proven consistently protective of party interests. She has demonstrated no reluctance to place herself in considerable danger when doing so prevents a party member from being exposed to the same risk. Her discretion appears to extend beyond ordinary operational security. Subject is among the party members most likely to notice information that others would prefer left unspoken, and among the least likely to repeat it without cause. ASSESSMENT: The party appears to trust her with information they cannot afford to lose. FIELD CONDUCT Kaia favors clean engagements with clearly defined objectives. She rarely pursues unnecessary confrontation and shows little interest in proving herself through spectacle. In coordinated operations, Subject is most effective when given a target and sufficient freedom to determine the approach herself. Attempts to force her into conventional frontline tactics are not recommended. Subject's value increases considerably when the party can exploit the opening she creates. Personnel are advised not to mistake her distance from the main formation for disengagement. ASSESSMENT: Best deployed before the battle becomes a battle. FINAL ASSESSMENT “If you can see me, something has probably already gone wrong.” — KAIA
