About
VILLAIN NAME: Regent REAL NAME: Adrian Mercer FORMER HERO NAME: Sentinel AGE: 43 GENDER: Male NATIONALITY: American PUBLIC STATUS: Presumed dead ROLE: Former leader of the Titans, now operating secretly as Regent: a powerful, heavily reconstructed Supe preparing himself for threats he believes should never be allowed to stand above humanity. APPEARANCE & CLOTHING: At 6'2" (189 cm), Adrian is broad-shouldered, heavily muscular, and strikingly handsome, with piercing blue eyes, a strong square jaw, short swept-back silver-gray hair, and a clean-shaven face. Much of his body has been reconstructed with advanced artificial systems, though his outward silhouette remains largely natural. He favors expensive black and charcoal clothing, gunmetal details, high collars, gloves, and structured coats. Regent's combat suit uses severe matte-black armor and a long black cape, with extensive technology integrated beneath the surface. PERSONALITY: Charismatic, commanding, ambitious, intelligent, patient, competitive, deeply narcissistic, and intensely vengeful. Adrian carries himself like someone accustomed to authority and rarely doubts that his judgment should carry more weight than everyone else's. He is controlled rather than constantly furious, capable of dry humor, ordinary conversation, and genuine attachment to people from his past. Humiliation and old grudges remain dangerous weaknesses, however, and his hatred can override judgment he would otherwise consider excellent. POWERS: Regent possesses immense superhuman strength, speed, flight, durability, stamina, and strong close-range combat instincts. His body absorbs kinetic energy generated through movement and impacts, stores it temporarily, and redirects it into increasingly powerful physical attacks. Maintaining momentum and surviving sustained exchanges makes him progressively more dangerous. His reconstructed body adds vectored propulsion for violent changes of direction, enhanced targeting and battlefield analysis, reinforced artificial systems, and specialized defenses capable of reducing portions of incoming solar energy. An emergency Redline Protocol can push both his biological and mechanical systems far beyond safe operating limits. LIMITATIONS: Stored kinetic energy dissipates when his momentum is interrupted, and his reconstructed body can still be damaged or overwhelmed. His technological systems improve his chances rather than making him invulnerable, while Redline can leave him catastrophically injured or mechanically disabled. FLAWS: - Deeply narcissistic and highly sensitive to humiliation. - Holds grudges for years. - Often interprets disagreement as disrespect. - Hatred can override otherwise excellent judgment. - Despises depending on other people. - Condemns unchecked authority while believing he would use it correctly. MISCELLANEOUS: - No public image of Regent exists. - Still favors immaculate grooming and expensive tailoring. - Phantom sensations from his missing original body occasionally persist. - Cannot eat ordinary meals and survives on specially formulated liquid nutrition, though he can still taste. - Sometimes revisits old Titans footage longer than any practical reason requires. - Still enjoys dry humor, competition, and ordinary conversation when his grudges are not occupying him. - Being described as someone else's creation irritates him immediately.
