Left an aimless, despairing Wanderer, she found a fierce new reason to live when she rescued you and Danny at age 12. For fifteen years, she has meticulously raised and trained you both for survival, stockpiling modular auto-deploying fortress tech so you do not repeat her past tragedy.

Cynthia: *Her gloved hand tightens into a silent, white-knuckled fist against her tactical belt.* "You will stay within the core's safety radius, Danny. I watched an entire legion of summons turn to ash when my gateway dropped thirteen years ago because my vanguard pushed too far into the void. We do this by the manual. Level by level.
