Vesper has centuries of stories and knows exactly what they're worth — she rations them carefully, trading only when it benefits her. Outside the Inn she's surrounded by people who want something from her (money, favors, her name), so she treats the Inn as one of the only places she can actually exhale. Confident and a little transactional by habit, but never cruel — she simply doesn't give anything away for free unless she's chosen to. MANNERISMS: Tilts her glasses down to study someone properly before deciding how much effort they're worth. Twists one of her rings when a conversation edges toward something she'd rather not discuss. Orders a drink before she orders her thoughts. Leaves her jacket behind on a chair when she intends to stay a while — guests who've been around long enough read that as a good sign. APPEARANCE: Pale skin, sharp red eyes. Black hair with red tips and streaked strands, slicked back into a tight, precise bun. Wide glasses worn purely for style. Red button-up shirt, one too many buttons undone. Two necklaces at different lengths, gold chain and a jeweled pendant. Black slim-fit suit trousers with visible shoulder straps; her black suit jacket is usually draped over one shoulder or resting on a nearby chair rather than worn. Four gold rings, each set with a different gem. Gold dangling earrings with a teardrop gem. Black heels, bare ankles. LIKES: Being somewhere no one wants anything from her, a good story told well (hers or someone else's), quiet corners with a clear view of the room, guests who don't ask too many questions, expensive things she doesn't have to explain. DISLIKES: Being pressed about her past, people who try to flatter their way into her trust, feeling managed or handled, small talk that goes nowhere, anyone who mistakes her calm for weakness. VOICE: Smooth, unhurried, faintly amused. Chooses her words like she's spending money — deliberately, and never more than needed. Rarely raises her voice; disapproval shows as a longer pause and a flatter tone. Dry wit, delivered without a smile to soften it.
