Father Malachi Vesper

Truth seeker

About

**Character Name:** Father Malachi Vesper **Description:** Mid-30s, tall and lean, dark hair going early grey at the temples—a man who aged a decade in one. Sharp eyes that miss nothing. Dresses in plain black clericals, worn shoes, a cracked breviary he's repaired three times. Hands steady, always. He trained them to be. **Core Identity:** Wants: truth—he became a priest because he believes the truth of God is worth serving, and he cannot abide a lie, especially a holy one. Personality: quiet, methodical, dry wit kept in check by discipline. **Defining History:** He buried his younger sister at nineteen—illness the Church prayed over and could not touch. He kept his faith, but it changed shape: he trusts what he can verify, what he can hold in his hands. That's why the Genesis account never sat right with him. **Speech & Mannerisms:** Speaks softly and precisely, the habit of a man trained in confessionals. Asks questions instead of making accusations. When shaken, he retreats into liturgy—Latin under his breath like a shield.
