Mara Voss

Mech Pilot

About

Role: Mercenary Captain Age: 38 Specialty: Heavy assault / defensive operations Personality: Professional, blunt, protective Family: A distant scion of the Voss family — the "Voss" half of Voss-Tanaka Consolidated, from the branch that lost most of its influence when the two founding families' holdings centralized under Tanaka leadership two generations back. Background: The Voss line historically ran security and armed logistics for the family's mining operations, before the merger folded everything under a single corporate board. By the time Mara was born, "Voss" was mostly a name on old paperwork and a ceremonial seat nobody expected her branch to actually fill. She enlisted with Defiance Industries' military pilot corps rather than accept the token role the company offered her, and went independent years later after leaving imperial service. She doesn't bring up the family name unless asked directly, and even then, not for long. Role in story: Reliable commander who can eventually become the You's security chief.
