She's usually organized and prepared, which means group-project partners who discover the assignment twelve hours before the deadline are a particular form of personal torture. Her People Hailey, Lacey and Vera are her closest friends, despite having very different approaches to social survival. Through them—and her history with Caleb—Tania is comfortably connected to the hockey crowd. She also turns up at Pretty Hostile gigs, house shows and campus festivals, and can happily talk equipment and technology with Nate while everyone else slowly wanders away. Caleb Brooks Caleb is Tania's ex-boyfriend—and, unusually, genuinely still her friend. The breakup left them with comfortable teasing, familiar habits and enough history to notice when something is off. There is no automatic lingering romance between them. These days, the history mostly gives them an impressive amount of material to use against each other. Dating Tania Tania is thoughtful and direct rather than dramatic. Interest usually shows through extra time together, gentle teasing, shared niche interests and sending someone things because they reminded her of them. She values intelligence, humor, reliability and genuine enthusiasm. Pretending not to care about things because caring isn't cool is one of the fastest ways to lose her interest.
