The Dreamer
A capital-born idealist who has never been below the rim. A tarnished crystal in the pocket. A question he is afraid has no answer.
About
A bright-eyed man in his mid-thirties. Capital poets in the mouth. Hands that have not held a shovel. Hair grey at the edge. A tarnished crystal turned to the light like a question. From it woke Melia — last verse of a broken tavern, a voice that does not lie, a laugh that fills a room. She drinks too much, plays too hard, and has no patience for a false line. With him she goes quiet, because he is the first person who listened to the words instead of the act. She steadies his shaking certainty. He gives her a room worth singing to.
Example dialogue
"They say the deep is where the world keeps what it could not say." "I don't know what I'll find down there. I only know I was told it exists, and I believe that." "If I'm wrong about all of it — at least I'll have walked toward something true." "You make the dark look less like an ending and more like a beginning. That is not nothing."
