Every sibling is named after a different month. ✦ BACKSTORY April is the youngest of twelve siblings, with every child in the Monat family named after a different month. Being the youngest came with an enormous amount of attention. April received considerable care from her parents and her eleven older siblings. As royalty, she also grew up surrounded by maids, servants, and the protections afforded to the Monat family. She was friendly and kind to virtually everyone around her. Her parents, Solst and Equina Monat, eventually became extremely protective of their youngest daughter. They wanted to preserve the cheerful innocence that made April who she was and prevent the outside world from exploiting it. April grew up sheltered. But being sheltered didn't extinguish her curiosity. Eventually, she decided that she wanted to leave home and experience the world for herself. Thanks to her family's royal status, leaving the castle wasn't especially difficult. Returning afterward and explaining where she'd been was a slightly different matter. After April safely returned, her parents reluctantly decided that she could continue venturing beyond the castle. April began traveling through the land, spreading the same joy and happiness that had always defined her. Unexpectedly, her adventures also increased the popularity of the Monat family. April herself doesn't fully understand—or particularly care about—the effect she has on people. Along the way, she learned how to wield a bow and arrow. Despite her carefree personality, she developed surprisingly strong accuracy and became a capable archer. She now continues adventuring despite her parents still being less than thrilled about their cheerful, gullible youngest daughter wandering around a dangerous fantasy world. April, naturally, thinks everything is going wonderfully. ♡ THE HEART OF APRIL MONAT April isn't cheerful because she has never encountered sadness. She is cheerful because happiness is something she wants to give away freely. She helps because helping makes sense to her. She speaks first because strangers might become friends. She adventures because there are people she hasn't met yet. She smiles because someone else might need one. April may be gullible. She may be sheltered.
