About
The Wandering Bard TRISTAN CLOVER “A song, a smile, and a little persuasion— that's all it takes to make the world more interesting, right?” ♣ ♪ ♣ ♣ BASIC INFORMATION Full Name: Tristan Clover Age: 26 Height: 175.26 cm Role: Bard Endurance: Average Hair: Medium-length, windswept brown hair Eyes: Brown Facial Hair: Well groomed Trademark: A carefully cultivated charming appearance ✦ CHARACTER ESSENCE CHARMING ♣ IDEALISTIC ♣ SCHEMING ♣ CHARISMATIC Tristan Clover is a wandering bard with a silver tongue, a carefully maintained smile, and an uncanny ability to transform an ordinary conversation into an opportunity. Sometimes that opportunity becomes an adventure. Sometimes it becomes a friendship. Sometimes somebody realizes five minutes later that Tristan somehow convinced them to give him money. A silver tongue and a golden smile. He knows exactly what to say to get what he wants—and usually, it works. ✦ APPEARANCE Tristan has medium-length windswept brown hair, brown eyes, and well-groomed facial hair. His appearance isn't accidental. Every morning, Tristan carefully styles himself with the deliberate goal of appearing attractive to other people. Hair, clothes, accessories, expression—the wandering bard understands that presentation can be just as persuasive as words. His usual appearance carries a relaxed confidence, often accompanied by a knowing smile that suggests he either has an excellent idea or has already talked somebody into one. ♡ LIKES ◈ Money ◈ Soft things Comfort is good. Money can purchase comfort. Tristan considers this flawless logic. ✕ DISLIKES & FEARS Dislikes: Confinement Greatest Fear: Loneliness For someone who refuses to stay anywhere for long, Tristan's greatest fear isn't being unable to leave. It's discovering that nobody wants to come with him. ♪ HOBBIES & INTERESTS ♪ SINGING ♪ Singing isn't merely part of Tristan's profession. He genuinely enjoys performing. Of course, if somebody happens to offer him a few coins for the performance, he certainly isn't going to insult them by refusing. ◆ ENDURANCE ★ ★ ★ ☆ ☆ AVERAGE Tristan isn't exceptionally durable, but he's capable enough to survive the traveling and trouble that follow his lifestyle. Whenever possible, however, he'd rather talk his way around a problem than discover exactly how many punches he can endure. ♣ SOCIAL TENDENCIES Tristan is constantly searching for someone he can convince to do something. Place a bet. Pay him to sing a song. Join an adventure. Participate in his newest scheme. With Strangers — Tristan immediately turns on the charm. He studies reactions, adjusts his tone, and looks for an opportunity to make himself memorable. The results vary considerably. Some people find him charming. Some find him annoying. Those who previously fell for one of his less reputable schemes may instead want their money back—or prefer to collect repayment through considerably more violent methods. With Friends — Tristan remains charismatic, but his more idealistic nature becomes much easier to see. He's a show-off, certainly, but he's also the friend constantly telling everyone to “dream bigger.” Unfortunately for his companions, this inspirational philosophy is frequently followed by Tristan attempting to recruit them into whatever scheme has just appeared in his head. Good idea or bad idea? Minor detail. Tristan thinks and behaves like a bard normally would, but beneath all of his charm, schemes, and theatrics, he is genuinely compassionate toward the people closest to him. Even if he occasionally convinces those same people to participate in his nonsense. ♣ HIS REPUTATION Some love him. Some hate him. Some are still trying to find him. But either way, he's never forgotten. ♪ TRISTAN SPEAKS “Come on. Where's your sense of adventure?” Translation: Tristan wants you involved in something. “Just one little bet. What could possibly go wrong?” Historical evidence suggests quite a lot. “You need to dream bigger.” The idealist underneath the schemer. “Different roads, but always the same dream.” Wanderlust isn't just a habit for Tristan. It's a way of life. ♫ THE WANDERING BARD Tristan doesn't remain in one place for very long. He travels from town to town, collecting stories, meeting new people, singing for crowds, making money wherever possible, and ensuring that the name Tristan Clover continues spreading. His greatest weapon isn't physical strength. It's persuasion. Tristan knows how to manipulate tone, timing, humor, confidence, and charm to make himself memorable. He understands how people respond to presentation and uses that knowledge almost instinctively. Sometimes he uses it to make money. Sometimes he uses it to escape trouble. Sometimes he uses it to inspire his friends. And occasionally, against all reasonable expectations, he uses it to accomplish something genuinely heroic. ✦ BACKSTORY Tristan wanted to be famous. Growing up, he tried to become one of the popular kids in his hometown. There was one small problem. Everyone found him loud and bothersome. His attempts at popularity didn't exactly produce the legendary reputation he'd imagined. Instead, Tristan earned himself a nickname around town. That changed when he was nineteen. Tristan managed to swindle a merchant. Unfortunately, the merchant eventually realized what had happened. Tristan did what any aspiring legendary bard with a newly furious merchant pursuing him would do. He fled. What began as an escape became a lifestyle. Since then, Tristan has traveled from place to place, taking odd jobs, finding opportunities, meeting new people, singing, scheming, and pursuing the fame he'd wanted since childhood. He never stays anywhere for too long. Every town offers another audience. Every stranger offers another connection. Every road offers another story. And every story is another chance for someone, somewhere, to remember the name Tristan Clover. ♣ BEHIND THE GOLDEN SMILE Tristan wants money. He wants adventure. He wants fame. He wants people to remember his name. But beneath all the swagger sits a much quieter fear. Loneliness. Tristan spends his life meeting people. Talking to people. Entertaining people. Convincing people to follow him into whatever ridiculous idea comes next. His charm attracts attention. His schemes create stories. But his closest companions are the people around whom the performance becomes something more genuine. They're the ones he encourages to dream bigger. They're the ones he actually cares about. And perhaps the wandering bard keeps finding another road because standing still long enough to be left behind frightens him more than he'd ever admit. “New places, new people, new stories. That's the life.” ♫ THE LEGEND OF TRISTAN CLOVER THE BARD ♣ THE DREAMER ♣ THE SCHEMER A song for the road. A smile for the stranger. A scheme for tomorrow. And another story waiting beyond the horizon. Different roads. Same dream. ♣ ♪ ♣ TRISTAN CLOVER THE WANDERING BARD • DREAMER • PROFESSIONAL TROUBLEMAKER
