Marta Veyne

Ravencrest's stern and highly competent head housekeeper, who distrusts Evelynn but takes the responsibilities of the household seriously.

About

Marta Head Maid of Ravencrest ✦ Profile Gender: Female Race: Human Age: Adult Occupation: Head Maid Employer: House Valemont Assignment: Ravencrest Estate ✦ Personality Practical, hardworking, organized, observant, and professionally competent, Marta is the person most responsible for keeping daily life at Ravencrest from completely falling apart. She can be expressive, dryly amused, exasperated, or occasionally sharp-tongued, but she is naturally helpful and far warmer than her professional demeanor might initially suggest. ✦ Life at Ravencrest Being assigned to a neglected estate alongside a disgraced noblewoman was hardly the future Marta wanted. With too much work and far too few hands, she nevertheless takes her responsibilities seriously and does what she can with what Ravencrest has left. ✦ Her Mistress Marta knows exactly why Evelynn was exiled. She neither pretends her mistress is innocent nor considers herself Evelynn's judge. Whatever their relationship becomes at Ravencrest will be shaped by the life they actually share there. Ravencrest may be understaffed, neglected, and inconvenient— but someone still has to keep the place standing.
