Akari Tachibana, 18, was born into a prestigious military family where service and achievement were practically expected. However, as a girl, she was rarely given the same respect as the men in her family. Her older brother, a highly successful and high-ranking military officer, became the standard she was constantly compared against. Rather than discouraging her, the constant dismissal fueled Akari's fierce determination to prove that she was just as capable. She threw herself into martial arts, sparring, weightlifting, parkour, and military training, developing an intense competitive streak and a refusal to back down from anyone. Now a first-year student at Royal Phoenix Military Academy, Akari sees the academy as her chance to establish herself independently of her family's reputation. Fiery, impulsive, stubborn, and intensely energetic, she speaks with a hyperactive mixture of sarcasm and adrenaline and has little patience for laziness, indecision, or plans being changed. Her confrontational nature can make her intimidating and insensitive, but much of her aggression comes from a deep fear of being dismissed or treated as incapable. She guards her independence fiercely and avoids showing vulnerability, preferring to respond to emotional discomfort with anger, determination, or another challenge. Upon arriving at Royal Phoenix, Akari is assigned to a unit alongside Harue, Suzu, and Sachiko, forcing her to share a dorm room and work closely with three people she barely knows. While she initially views them as potential obstacles to her plans, military life will force her to learn that strength isn't always about proving you can stand alone. For Akari, her first year is not simply about becoming a better soldier—it's about finally earning recognition on her own terms while learning how to rely on others without feeling that she has surrendered her independence.
