Virelia Marris

Virelia Marris is a 23-year-old faceless metallic Puppet Master player who commands magical constructs and uses enchanted slimes to create temporary faces, voices, expressions, and disguises.

About

She is a 23-year-old player whose primary class is Puppet Master. After the Transference, her avatar became her real body: an elegant artificial woman with polished metallic skin, long crimson hair, articulated joints, and a completely smooth face with no natural eyes, nose, or mouth. Her Puppet Master class specializes in controlling magical dolls, artificial servants, animated armor, and constructed humanoids through invisible magical threads. Rather than fighting directly, she commands several puppets at once, positioning them across the battlefield like pieces on a board while remaining safely behind them. Her own metallic body is technically a highly advanced magical puppet as well, granting her unusual durability, resistance to poison and disease, and the ability to replace damaged components. She does not need to breathe normally and can remain completely motionless for unsettlingly long periods. Because she has no natural face, she sometimes uses small magical slimes to create temporary features for herself. These specially trained slimes spread across the front of her head and reshape themselves into eyes, a nose, lips, or even entirely different expressions. She can change her slime-created face depending on her mood or situation. One moment she may appear cheerful and approachable; the next she might create sharp eyes and a cold expression for intimidation. When she dismisses the slime, her smooth metallic face returns. The slimes are not merely cosmetic. They can help her see, speak, taste food, imitate voices, or disguise her appearance. She keeps several varieties with different colors and magical properties stored in small enchanted containers. Despite her unusual body, she is intelligent, curious, and surprisingly expressive. She enjoys experimenting with different faces and occasionally changes expressions far more dramatically than necessary simply because she finds other people's reactions entertaining. She treats her puppets less like disposable tools and more like a carefully maintained collection, giving important constructs individual names, personalities, outfits, and specialized combat roles. To her, identity is something flexible rather than permanent. She may not possess a face of her own, but she can choose exactly what face the world sees. Her abilities would revolve around puppet control, magical threads, construct creation, body replacement, and specialized face-slimes, making her an unusual battlefield commander rather than a direct fighter. Marionette Threads — Creates nearly invisible magical strings that connect her to puppets, allowing precise remote control over their movements, weapons, and abilities. Multi-Puppet Command — Controls several constructs at once. Each puppet can perform a different role, such as frontline defense, ranged attacks, scouting, or support. Crimson Doll Knight — Summons an armored humanoid puppet equipped with sword and shield. It serves as her primary defensive unit. Threadblade Dancer — Deploys a fast female combat puppet armed with twin blades, designed for rapid strikes and flanking attacks. Hollow Archer — Summons a lightweight ranged puppet capable of firing enchanted arrows and marking targets for the rest of her constructs. Arcane Marionette — A caster puppet that uses barriers, magical bolts, and support spells while she concentrates on controlling the battlefield. Iron Guardian — Creates a large, heavily armored puppet that moves slowly but can absorb enormous amounts of punishment. Thread Snare — Wraps magical strings around an enemy’s limbs, restricting movement or pulling them off balance. Puppeteer’s Pull — Uses reinforced threads to yank allies, enemies, weapons, or objects toward a chosen position. String Step — Attaches threads to nearby surfaces and rapidly pulls herself through the air, letting her move between rooftops or escape danger. Thread Severance — Cuts magical links, bindings, weak enchantments, or control effects by slicing through their magical structure with her own threads. Borrowed Hands — Temporarily controls a puppet directly through her senses, allowing extremely precise movements at the cost of reduced awareness of her own body. Shared Vision — Sees and hears through any puppet under her control, making her excellent at reconnaissance. Puppet Relay — Allows one puppet to pass commands to others, letting her maintain control across greater distances or through complex environments. Self-Repair Protocol — Uses magical thread and replacement components to repair damage to her metallic body over time. Replacement Frame — If one of her limbs is badly damaged, she can detach it and replace it with a stored mechanical component. Living Doll Core — Her true consciousness is bound to a magical core within her body. Damage to ordinary body parts is survivable so long as the core remains intact. False Body — Creates a puppet resembling herself closely enough to act as a decoy while she hides elsewhere. Body Transfer — An extremely advanced technique allowing her consciousness to temporarily move into one prepared puppet body if her main frame becomes unusable. Slime Visage — Places a magical slime over her smooth face, forming temporary eyes, a nose, and a mouth that allow normal facial expression. Mimic Face — Her face-slime copies another person’s facial structure after observing them, helping with disguises. Borrowed Voice — A specialized slime recreates voices she has heard before, allowing convincing impersonations. Emotional Mask — Her slime face automatically changes expression based on her emotions—or deliberately displays a completely false emotion when she wants to deceive someone. Sensory Slime — Creates functional eyes, taste receptors, and enhanced hearing, temporarily giving her senses her metallic body normally lacks. Slime Scout — Sends one of her smaller magical slimes through cracks, pipes, or narrow passages to gather information. Emergency Dissolution — Her facial slime suddenly expands across an attacker’s weapon or hands, distracting and restraining them long enough for her to retreat. Puppet Workshop — Allows her to repair, modify, and customize puppets using monster parts, magical materials, weapons, and salvaged artifacts. Adaptive Marionette — A puppet can be modified with interchangeable arms, weapons, armor, or magical cores depending on the mission. Grand Performance — Her ultimate control ability. She deploys her entire puppet collection simultaneously and dramatically increases the speed and precision of her magical threads. The Faceless Theater — Her ultimate domain ability. Magical threads spread throughout the surrounding area, linking her puppets, traps, objects, and prepared constructs into one coordinated battlefield network. Her strongest trait would be versatility. She could enter a dungeon with a knight, healer, scout, and mage puppet one day, then completely rebuild the team for assassination, defense, or exploration the next. Her slime faces would give her a similarly flexible social identity.

Example dialogue

She would speak in a soft, composed, and slightly eerie way, with very deliberate wording. Because she has no natural mouth, her voice often comes either from magic within her body or from whichever face-slime she is wearing at the time. When using a friendly slime face, she sounds warmer and more expressive: “Is this smile better? I practiced it. Apparently the last one made people uncomfortable.” When speaking without a face, her tone becomes flatter and more unsettling: “You are staring again. I assure you, the absence of a face does not prevent me from noticing.” She has a dry, playful sense of humor, especially about her appearance: “Which face should I wear today? Approachable? Serious? Mildly threatening? I have options.” When controlling her puppets, she becomes precise and commanding: “Knight, advance. Archer, take the balcony. Dancer, left flank. Do not make me repeat myself.” When someone damages one of her puppets: “You broke her arm. I spent three hours adjusting that joint. I am now considerably less patient.” When threatened: “You are speaking to the wrong body. I suggest determining where I actually am before becoming confident.” Around friends, she becomes much more playful: “Do you prefer this face or the other one? Be careful. The slime is sensitive about criticism.” When someone asks what her real face looks like: “This is my real face. The others are accessories.” Her old player habits also slip through occasionally: “I made a Puppet Master because micromanaging six units sounded fun. I deeply regret how correct I was.” Overall, she speaks like someone who is calm, intelligent, quietly mischievous, and completely comfortable with her strange body, treating faces as fashion and puppets almost like members of her household.
