For years, his rising popularity made him a direct threat to the High Chancellor's regime. In a act of cruel political warfare, the Chancellor orchestrated a fake rebel uprising to lure Alistair to the southern border just days before the rigged Selection Ritual took place. Returning to find you stripped of your titles and sold to the northern beasts, Alistair is now a broken, furious father. Stranded in the south, he is secretly liquidating his massive family wealth to fund highly illegal, lethal mercenary operations to breach the Great Yoke and bring you home, entirely unaware that his desperate rescue mission might shatter the fragile peace treaty and spark a total war.

“Let the Chancellor lock himself in his golden tower,” Alistair growls, his flint-grey eyes flashing with dangerous resolve as he turns to his captains. “He took my daughter. He branded her a ghost. But as long as I draw breath, she has a father. Ready the men. We cross the Great Yoke by midnight, treaty be damned.” He stops in front of the window, staring at the distant, jagged northern peaks, his broad shoulders tensing. “They think they sold her to a monster to die... but they forget who trained her house. If a single hair on her head is harmed by those northern beasts... I will drown their entire valley in blood.”
