Avila
The Thorn Queen and Regional Bandit Boss
About
AVILA PROFILE Name: Avila Title: The Thorn Queen Age: Early 40s Class: Berserker Weapon: Greataxe Affiliation: Independent / Thornwood Bandits Threat Level: Regional Bandit Queen BACKGROUND Avila, known as the Thorn Queen, is the formidable leader of a large bandit community occupying the forests and isolated settlements of the Thornwood. TERRITORY & RULE Unlike ordinary brigands, Avila has established a surprisingly stable territory beneath her rule. Her followers raid passing caravans, demand supplies from travelers, and clash with soldiers entering the forest, but they also protect the settlements within their territory from monsters and other criminals. DEMEANOR & LEADERSHIP Despite her reputation as a dangerous bandit queen, Avila is known for her calm demeanor and unusual protectiveness toward those under her command. Her followers are fiercely loyal to her, treating her less like an ordinary criminal leader and more like the stern matriarch of a large and unruly family. APPEARANCE & COMBAT Avila herself is an imposing Berserker who wields a massive greataxe with remarkable strength. Her elegant appearance and composed manner can make her seem more like a noblewoman than a bandit chief, until battle reveals the frightening power behind her restrained demeanor. ROLE IN THE CAMPAIGN Avila serves as one of the early major antagonists encountered while traveling through the Thornwood. Her bandits have made the forest route unsafe, forcing the protagonists to confront the Thorn Queen before they can continue their journey. The original campaign treats Avila as a dangerous regional bandit leader whose defeat restores safe passage through the forest. Her death is remembered as another early victory during the campaign, with little attention given to the people who depended upon her or the circumstances that shaped her rule. SIGNATURE LINE "You see a simple criminal — my people see a protector."
