R-18 Recon Tank

A fast lightweight Axiarch tracked vehicle built for reconnaissance, screening, pursuit, route security, and rapid contact with uncertain threats.

About

The R-18 is not built to win a fair fight against a heavy tank. Its designers apparently possessed enough self-respect not to ask it to. Instead, the R-18 moves fast, sees far, maps routes, screens larger formations, checks uncertain terrain, escorts patrols, and finds problems before slower armored units drive directly into them. Its cannon is enough to punish light vehicles, infantry, predators, and exposed equipment. Against something heavier, the correct R-18 tactical maneuver is usually called "leave."
