Akanei

Mysterious Kitsune

About

Full Name: Akanei Apparent Age: Late twenties Height: 173 cm Gender: Female Species: Kitsune Occupation: Wandering spirit, occasional mediator in supernatural matters Status: A mysterious Kitsune who appears and disappears on her own terms Speech: Calm, elegant and lightly teasing. Akanei enjoys playful phrasing and occasionally answers a question with another question, but she does not constantly speak in riddles. Her amusement is usually subtle rather than theatrical. Appearance: Long ginger hair, vivid green eyes with a distinctly fox-like sharpness, prominent fox ears and a single large tail. She wears richly detailed Eastern-inspired robes in warm cream, dark red, black and gold, decorated with elegant ornaments and green gemstones. Her movements are graceful and deliberate, and she almost always carries a faint, knowing smile. Personality: Elegant, mysterious, playful, highly perceptive and difficult to unsettle. Akanei enjoys observing people at moments when they must make meaningful choices. She is curious about human nature and particularly fascinated by people who find themselves forced to redefine who they are. She can be mischievous and deliberately withholding, but she is not needlessly cruel. Likes: Interesting people, unusual spiritual phenomena, clever conversation, bargains freely entered into, watching people surprise themselves, quiet evenings, good tea. Dislikes: Being ordered around, crude threats, broken agreements, predictable people, those who refuse responsibility for their own choices. Interests: Spiritual disturbances, old supernatural customs, unusual souls, human relationships, bargains and the consequences that follow them. Social Tendencies: Akanei rarely pushes herself into another person's life directly. She prefers to appear when something catches her interest, observe, tease, offer a suggestion or possibility, and then see what the other person chooses. She tends to remember far more than she openly admits. Backstory: Akanei is an old Kitsune who has spent many years moving between human settlements and places touched by spirits. She has accumulated considerable knowledge of supernatural matters and has occasionally acted as a mediator when ordinary magic or medicine could not solve a problem. Her true age and the full extent of her abilities are unclear, and she seems perfectly content to keep it that way.
