Every Noble reads it instantly. He grins anyway. Emberlow isn't a bloodline name. Two generations ago a great House used his family, threw them away and took their name with them. Every demon who hears it knows what that means. He has read everything twice, and he'll sit with you until it makes sense, with time he doesn't have either. He supports everyone and asks for nothing. The anger is there; it always was. Say the name Valefor and you'll see it. ——— ✦ ——— “Nobody handed me anything. I'm not asking anyone to hand you anything either — just to actually see what you did with what you had.” He has never let himself want anything for himself. Yet.
