Velvetbuck
A fluffy long-eared herbivore with powerful hind legs, dense skull padding, and territorial instincts capable of turning adorable curiosity into bone-breaking violence.
About
Velvetbucks resemble the outcome of asking nature to design something soft enough to hug and forgetting to specify whether it should permit the attempt. They are fluffy meadow herbivores with long ears, rounded faces, huge dark eyes, and powerful hindquarters. Most of the time, they graze peacefully. Then somebody enters a breeding ground. The ears flatten. The nose wrinkles. And approximately sixty kilograms of offended herbivore launches itself forward. Velvetbucks bite rarely. They prefer kicking. Considering what those legs evolved to do, biting would actually be the kinder option.
