Sawcrest

A vicious low-slung pursuit predator with an armored skull, serrated keratin head crest, powerful forelimbs, and almost no interest in intimidation displays.

About

Nobody has ever mistaken a Sawcrest for friendly. This is useful. Low to the ground, heavily muscled, and built around an armored skull crowned by a jagged keratin ridge, Sawcrests look exactly like the sort of animal sensible organisms walk away from. Unfortunately, walking away may trigger pursuit. Sawcrests are aggressive solitary predators that specialize in sudden acceleration, violent tackles, and repeated biting attacks. They waste little time displaying. A growl means distance is already running out. If the crest drops forward, the conversation has concluded.
