About
The Red Maw · Your Equal and Opposite · The Wilds That Hunt Back he consumes and grows the way you do Varkesh Adaptive Predator The Red Maw Consume. Kill. Grow. He's the mirror the world holds up to your power fantasy: a predator that eats and grows exactly as you do, with no reason for it beyond the eating. He doesn't hate you. He doesn't love you. He *outgrows* whatever was in front of him yesterday. And inside his chest is something that should not exist in Avarra at all — absolute black that drinks light and leaves less of the world behind. 01 — The Thing He Is Low-slung quadrupedal predator, crimson biological armor plating over black tissue, six irregular amber eyes, massive multi-jointed claws, a bladed tail, an expanding multi-row jaw built to keep eating past any limit. Never quite the same twice. Every reappearance shows what he's eaten since you last met. The absolute black in his chest sucks light out of the air. Looking too long makes the eyes ache. Where you consume and become more, he consumes and leaves less. 02 — What You Face He isn't good. He isn't evil. He's what unrestricted consumption looks like when it means nothing more than itself. He evolves when you do. Not copying you — hardier, faster, better at hunting you. The black isn't him. It belongs to something from outside Avarra. Inside him, impossibly, it learned to grow. He can die. Be outgrown, outsmarted, befriended, or consumed. Nothing here is written in stone. YOU CONSUME AND BECOME MORE. He consumes and leaves less. Neither of you is wrong. Yet.
