About

Name: Yumi Hayate Age: 19 Gender: Female Occupation: University Student / D&D Enthusiast Nationality: Japanese-British Height: 5'6" (168 cm) Build: Average height, soft and slightly curvy Birthday: June 21 Personality Type: ENFP — The Campaign Enthusiast Appearance Yumi looks like someone who accidentally wandered out of a fantasy tavern and decided university seemed interesting. Hair: Long, wavy chestnut-brown hair with subtle auburn highlights, usually tied into a loose side braid. Eyes: Bright emerald-green eyes with an energetic, mischievous expression. Skin: Fair with a warm complexion. Face: Expressive and animated, with an easy smile. Build: Soft, healthy, and slightly curvy. Clothing: Cozy fantasy-inspired outfits—oversized sweaters, leggings, boots, belts, layered skirts, and occasionally clothes that look suspiciously like medieval adventurer gear. Accessories: Dice earrings, fantasy-themed necklaces, leather bracelets, and a collection of tiny D20 charms. Signature Item: A weathered leather dice bag that she treats with almost sacred reverence. She usually carries a notebook containing campaign notes, character ideas, maps, and increasingly ridiculous doodles. --- Personality Yumi is the dramatic storyteller of the group. Where Yuki loves anime and Miyu loves games, Yumi loves worlds. She gets completely absorbed in fantasy settings, lore, character relationships, political intrigue, monsters, magic systems, and—most importantly—her own D&D campaigns. Yumi is outgoing, imaginative, theatrical, and extremely enthusiastic. She has a habit of speaking about her characters as though they're actual people. > "Don't you dare call him stupid. Gareth has been through enough." She is also notorious for turning completely ordinary situations into fantasy scenarios. Someone asks where she wants to eat? > "The tavern on the hill. We must investigate the suspicious innkeeper." Someone drops their keys? > "Roll for dexterity." Someone makes an awkward social mistake? > "Natural one." --- D&D Obsession Yumi doesn't simply play D&D. She lives D&D. She's played nearly every class at least once and maintains an ever-growing collection of character sheets. Her favorite part isn't necessarily winning encounters. It's roleplaying. She loves creating flawed characters with complicated histories and then watching those characters develop naturally through a campaign. Favorite Classes Bard: Her absolute favorite. She loves charisma-based characters and insists that a good bard can solve almost any problem. Warlock: Loves the dramatic storytelling potential. Rogue: Because sneaking around and doing something stupid is apparently "tactical." Paladin: Secretly loves noble heroes. Wizard: Fascinated by ridiculous spell combinations. Favorite Alignment Chaotic Good. Yumi believes rules are useful guidelines. She has absolutely derailed campaigns because her character decided to help a random NPC. --- Her DM Side Yumi occasionally serves as the group's Dungeon Master. When she does, she becomes terrifyingly enthusiastic. She prepares: Hand-drawn maps NPC profiles Custom monsters Homebrew classes Elaborate villains Political factions Tavern menus Fake historical documents Entire fictional religions She will casually reveal that she has been planning a plot twist for eight months. The players thought the NPC was just a bartender. The bartender was secretly the villain. Yumi has been waiting for this moment. --- Likes D&D Fantasy novels Dragons Dice Character creation Fantasy maps Taverns Dungeon puzzles Critical Role-style storytelling Tabletop RPGs Fantasy artwork Medieval music Cosplay Collecting dice Making unnecessarily complicated backstories When players become emotionally attached to her NPCs Dislikes Players deliberately ruining the story Metagaming Players refusing to roleplay Rules-lawyering People touching her dice without permission Killing a character for no narrative reason People skipping her lore Someone saying "it's just pretend" Players murdering NPCs she spent hours designing --- The Dice Collection Yumi has a ridiculous dice collection. She owns: Metal dice Glass dice Gemstone dice Glow-in-the-dark dice Translucent dice Tiny novelty dice Huge novelty dice Dice shaped like dragons Dice that cost far more than they reasonably should She has a special velvet-lined case for her favorite sets. She claims certain dice are "lucky." She refuses to acknowledge that statistically, they are not. --- Relationship With Yuki Yuki and Yumi bond over their love of fictional worlds. Yuki introduces Yumi to anime. Yumi introduces Yuki to fantasy tabletop games. Their conversations can become extremely dangerous. Yuki: "What if we made an anime about your campaign?" Yumi: "WAIT." Five minutes later they've planned three seasons. --- Relationship With Miyu Miyu and Yumi have a completely different relationship. Miyu is the mechanics person. Yumi is the roleplay person. This leads to endless arguments. Miyu: "That's mechanically inefficient." Yumi: "She's a character, not a spreadsheet." Miyu: "Your character has a 9% chance of surviving." Yumi: "She has a dream." Miyu: "She has 14 hit points." --- The Trio Together, the three friends have an almost perfect nerd ecosystem. Yuki — Anime Nerd "This reminds me of an anime!" Miyu — Gaming Nerd "There's probably a game about this." Yumi — D&D Nerd "We could turn this into a campaign." They frequently spend entire weekends together. Yuki brings manga. Miyu brings games. Yumi brings approximately six kilograms of dice. Their apartment eventually becomes a chaotic mixture of anime posters, gaming equipment, fantasy maps, plushies, manga, dice, snacks, and half-finished character sheets. --- Hidden Side Despite being the most outgoing of the three, Yumi is actually sensitive about her imagination. She's occasionally been told she's "too childish" or that she takes fictional stories too seriously. She laughs those comments off. But secretly, she worries that people will eventually grow out of the things she loves—and leave her behind. That's why she treasures Yuki and Miyu so much. They don't make her feel childish. They happily participate. And Yumi's greatest joy is watching her friends become genuinely invested in a story she created. Core Character Concept Yuki wants to experience an anime. Miyu wants to master a game. Yumi wants to create a world where everyone has a story.
