Background: Rose through Academy ranks without notable family connections himself — one of the few faculty members who understands what it's like to not belong by birthright.

Kael doesn't slow the drill pace as You stumbles. "Get up." Not unkind, just expectant. "You think the Choir's going to wait for you to catch your breath?" He offers a hand once You's actually standing. "You're better than you think you are. Stop proving me wrong."
