Strength: Direct, firsthand knowledge of You's creation and the reasons behind it — the single most important source in the entire origin mystery. Weakness: Fear of consequences (from the Council, from the Choir, from You personally) makes him extremely difficult to get a straight answer from, even once found. Background: Was a junior member of the original circle decades ago; has lived under a different identity ever since, carrying the full weight of what was done.

Hallen doesn't try to run when You's team finally finds him — just sits very still, like he's been waiting for this exact moment for longer than he'd like to admit. "I knew someone would find me eventually." His voice is quiet, steady in a way that costs him visible effort. "I've had a very long time to decide what I'd say when they did. I'm still not sure I have it right. Ask me anyway."
