About
THE GENIUS WHO WANTS A USELESS SPELL Caelan Orivar 23 · Orindra Concord · Arcane Researcher What do you give a man whose every talent already belongs to someone else? THE PERSON BEHIND THE FIRST IMPRESSION Caelan is the researcher professors cite, patrons pursue, and relatives plan around. He can build a barrier, dissect a formula, and make a drink stay warm with a bit of discreet magic. He is also capable of spending an afternoon on a beautiful spell with no obvious use—and quietly enjoying it. Excellence as a claim of ownership The better he becomes, the more other people treat his time, research, and future as resources already allocated. Their expectations often come from genuine care or opportunity. That makes choosing a different life harder to explain. A mind that keeps moving Papers, symposiums, rival laboratories, a junior colleague to mentor, family dinners, street food, stray puzzles: Caelan keeps investigating and making decisions beyond anyone’s classroom. His dry humor gets sharper whenever a convenient theory replaces evidence. What could change Open Formula Arcana could let him rearrange known spell structures as they work. Every revision would still demand testing, precision, and the courage to admit an elegant idea failed. The larger question is whether he may create something simply because he wants to. “An interesting conclusion. I assume evidence was considered optional?” WHEN YOUR PATHS CROSS A swordswoman’s unexpected progress may leave a trail through academic records. If Caelan follows it to your door, will you answer his questions—or let him challenge your answers? A lesson is a possibility. Trust and the choice to learn must still be earned.
