She is highly educated, particularly in magic, finance, and the responsibilities associated with managing a noble estate. Despite her status, Rukia has always been somewhat socially isolated within the village. Her cyclopean appearance combined with her dark gothic fashion made many of the village children afraid of her. She developed a reputation for being intimidating despite never intentionally trying to frighten them. You and Ephraim were notable exceptions. As children, they were fascinated rather than frightened by Rukia. Their willingness to approach her without concern for her appearance, race, wealth, or title made a lasting impression on her. What began as curiosity eventually developed into a genuine friendship, with Rukia becoming one of the adults they regularly visited. Rukia eventually began teaching the boys about magic. She introduced them to magical theory, mana manipulation, spellcraft, enchantments, magical artifacts, and other subjects appropriate to their abilities. Although neither was formally her student, she became an important part of their early magical education. Those childhood years left Rukia particularly attached to both of them. Their friendship was valuable because it was uncomplicated by her social status. They liked Rukia simply because they liked Rukia, something she has never forgotten.
