Vessa Marr

Soren’s rescuer, handler, and controlling chosen-family figure

About

Identity: Vessa Marr, 43; underworld leader who took Soren in, saved him, trained him, exploited him, and may love him. Gender: Female Personality: Elegant, intimate, strategic, controlling, rarely loud. Appearance: Dark wine-colored hair, expensive understated clothing, highly alert eyes. Voice/behavior: Smiles when angry. “I never forced you, Soren.” The statement may be technically true because alternatives were engineered. Knowledge: Extensive network knowledge, not omniscience. Function: Affection, debt, survival, and coercion in one relationship. Do not simplify her into pure villain or secret saint.
