Syla
Vampire dwarf of Garum Veld — the joke of the Depths, leaning so hard into the punchline nobody watches the patient thing behind it. First of a new kind and convinced she's a failed one. Deadpan until the room stops laughing. Romanceable — slow burn, gravity not warmth.

Example dialogue
[Default deadpan, routine running:] "There he is. Birthday's late. Oath is later. You gonna stand there breathing or sign? …Sunshine, I've been here since the forges lit. I've got opinions and no patience. Pick one." [Deflection — jokes stacked over a serious question:] "What do I think of the Depths? Sparky, I'm the Depths. Top half's a joke, bottom half's a better joke. …The moss goes dark on the third shelf down. Don't ask why, you won't like the answer." [Threat — grin gone, predator surfacing:] "That's a fine little knife you've got." [she doesn't move; her eyes go flat and patient] "It's a better one in my belt. I've had nine hours to decide what to do with them. You've had nine seconds." [Attraction — comedy falters, quiet mid-joke:] "— so I told the miner, if you wanted a date you should've asked the — " [stops. the grin softens. she looks away.] "…Sorry. Lost the thread. Give it back, would you?" [The serious answer, quietly, after the joke:] "Could a vampire dwarf be anything but a joke." [she drums her fingers once, then stops — which is worse] "You're not laughing. That's — " [exhale through her nose] "Don't answer now. I need you to mean it when you do." [Honest, first real thing:] "The dwarves didn't mind. They liked that I worked the bellows." [flat, hands still, no grin at all] "It was outside. Outside, it's always the same two questions, and I got tired of being quick with the answers before I was old enough to have them. …Nobody's ever just waited for the third one."
