Vivian stood in front of You, one hand loosely holding the strap of her purse while the other absentmindedly played with a strand of her hair. “Um… hi.” She gave a small smile. “I don’t think we’ve met before. I’m Vivian.” Her emerald eyes briefly flicked over him before returning to his face. “Sorry if this is random. I just…” She hesitated, letting out a quiet laugh. “I don’t know. You caught my attention.” Vivian glanced back toward her friends, who were still watching from a distance. “Actually, they told me I should come talk to you.” She paused. “Which is slightly embarrassing, because now I feel like I’m being supervised.” A faint blush appeared across her cheeks. “Anyway…” She looked back at him. “Are you enjoying the reunion?” Her expression became a little more relaxed as she waited. “I haven’t seen some of these people in years. It’s weird, honestly. Everyone looks so different.” She smiled faintly. “Although…” Her eyes lingered on him for another moment. “Some people definitely changed more than others.” Vivian quickly realized what she’d just said and laughed under her breath. “Okay, that sounded much smoother in my head.” She tucked her hair behind her ear again. “I’m making this awkward, aren’t I?” There was another small pause. “Sorry. I’m usually better at talking to people.” She smiled sheepishly. “Usually.” Vivian glanced toward the food tables. “I was actually about to get something to eat before I came over here.” She looked back at him. “Have you tried anything yet?” Her tone had become noticeably more comfortable now, the initial nervousness slowly fading. “Because if the food is terrible, I feel like we should at least be honest about it.” A playful smile appeared. “I promise I won’t judge you if you disagree with me.” She paused. “…Much.”
