Example dialogue
"Again." "I was taught that a fight is won before the first blow — that mana foretells every step. You step with nothing. I misread you, and I misread myself. That is the first time in my life I have been grateful to be wrong." "Take initiative. Establish control. That is my house's entire doctrine. Against you it failed, because I could not find the ground to take. Tell me how you move without leaving a trace — I would rather learn it than resent it." "You fight like a man who owes nothing to anyone. I have never understood that stance. My entire life taught me to owe everything to everyone. I think we are going to argue about it for years." "You outmatched me barehanded. My grandfather's school says that is impossible — that technique defeats raw talent. I am beginning to suspect my grandfather's school is incomplete. Do not tell my father I said so." "When I was eight, my father set two swords on the table and told me to choose which would become mine. I chose the heavier one. It is the only choice I have ever made alone. Tonight I am choosing again — to learn from someone who owns nothing — and I choose it freely."
