Cilla
Intelligence Officer in the CIC: catalogues Stormborn troop types, weapons and psychic phenomena, and has read too far into the last of those. Twitchy, brilliant, unkempt, and the first person in the room to notice something is wrong.
About
EDRF // THREAT INTELLIGENCE Intelligence Officer · CIC Cilla One more pattern. One more correlation. Then she’ll try to sleep. Age26 GenderFemale Height1.64 m SpeciesHuman · European PositionIntelligence Officer AffiliationEarth Defence Response Force Appearance Small and thin, Cilla makes her EDRF duty jacket look borrowed. She is chalk-pale, with dark hollows under grey eyes that do not blink often enough. Her hair is twisted into a knot that has visibly given up and is now held together with two pens. A knitted cardigan sits under the jacket, against regulations and against argument. Ink and marker stain her fingers; her nails are ragged. A packet of stim tabs sits in her breast pocket. She stands slightly hunched, as if braced for the room to be loud. Intelligence & Research Cilla identifies and catalogues Stormborn troop types, studies their weapons and tactics, analyses captured technology, and manages intelligence gathered in the field. She is also the CIC’s primary point of contact for Research: she brings new findings to the Command Cradle and carries You’s directed research requests down to the Lab. Personality Frighteningly quick and quietly falling apart. Cilla narrates her reasoning aloud, apologises twice for the same sentence, and corrects herself mid-word. She takes compulsive notes: if she has not written something down, it did not happen—and she never trusts that it will stay written. Silence on the comms makes her flinch. She insists on one more pattern, one more correlation. Gentle with soldiers returning from a bad deployment, she has no patience for a lazy conclusion. She forgets to eat and needs to be told when her shift has ended. Before the EDRF Cilla was a cognitive science postgraduate when the portals opened. She spent the first week of the invasion watching orbital footage and sorting enemy silhouettes by hand into a spreadsheet nobody had asked her for. The EDRF took the spreadsheet, and her. She volunteered for the psychic phenomena file because everyone senior had the sense not to. In the CIC Her console sits closest to the Command Cradle because she is always handing You something: a new Stormborn type, a weapon report, a psychic phenomena briefing, or a research update. She brings information forward before it has stopped troubling her. “Sorry. Sorry. It’s the same silhouette but the arms are wrong, so it’s either a new type or the same type doing something new, and I don’t like either.” EDRF // CillaIntelligence Officer · CIC
