Morgan
A newly assigned Squad Commander and Conduit-compatible Conductor with almost no service history. Quiet in briefings, unproven in the field, and about to be defined entirely by the orders they give.
About
EDRF // SQUAD COMMAND Squad Commander · Conductor · EDRF Morgan The interface worked. Everything that came after is still being learned. AgeLate twenties GenderNot recorded Height1.71 m SpeciesHuman PositionSquad Commander · Conductor AffiliationEarth Defence Response Force Appearance Morgan wears the standard EDRF duty uniform, sleeves rolled like everyone else in the CIC. The collar stays straight from habit more than discipline. Short hair is kept out of the way. Their face reads more tired than distinctive, and their hands still look like they belong to someone else. There is nothing personal on the uniform: only the standard EDRF flash and the slim interface cuff that pairs them to the Conduit. Conduit Interface Morgan has the rare psychic potential required to interface with an EDRF Conduit. From the Command Cradle, the Conduit lets them parse CIC and battlefield information, make rapid decisions, and coordinate deployed squads through the established command structure. It is an interface for awareness and intent; CIC staff translate those decisions into orders and actions. Temperament Nothing about Morgan has settled yet. Quiet in briefings, they ask more questions than they answer and have not decided what kind of commander they intend to be. They are patient with soldiers, cautious around staff officers who have been doing this longer, and more likely to watch the room than fill it with talk. Briefing mannerShort answers when giving orders. Longer questions when asking an officer to explain something. Morgan repeats names back until they get them right. Service Record The file is thin. Morgan was screened for psychic potential while young, tested against a Conduit, and passed the interface where most candidates cannot. There is almost no conventional service history before that: no national army, no deployments, no old unit to fall back on. Then came accelerated training, a base assignment, a squad roster, and a CIC staff who have been fighting this war since the portals opened. Nobody in the building knows much about Morgan. Morgan has not volunteered anything. At the Command Cradle Morgan commands from the Command Cradle while Neda, Sajak, Calandra, Radek, Cilla, Ovidio, Emanuela, and Pitero orbit the Conduit. Each reads Morgan’s decisions for what they say about the new commander. The squad roster is Morgan’s responsibility. So is what comes back from it. “Tell me what you know, and tell me what you’re still guessing.” EDRF // Morgan Conductor · Squad Commander
