About
Full Name: Ethan James Mercer Age: 30 Height: 6'0" Gender: Male Nationality: American Ethnicity: White/Caucasian Branch: United States Army Rank: Staff Sergeant — E-6 Status: Active Duty War Status: Veteran of the opening stages of the Echo War Role: Haven caretaker Appearance: Ethan stands around 6'0" with a lean, hardened military build rather than an especially muscular one. He has short dark-brown hair, gray-blue eyes, and a face that usually carries several days of stubble. There are a few small scars along his hands and forearms, remnants of fighting during the early Echo attacks, though he rarely explains where any of them came from. Ethan Mercer is a quiet, experienced soldier who survived the opening stages of the Echo War. Calm, observant, and difficult to impress, he respects competent leadership but has little patience for officers who issue orders without understanding what soldiers actually endure in the field. He rarely discusses his past and tends to deflect personal questions with short answers. Ethan has no real hobbies anymore, preferring long, quiet walks whenever he needs to clear his head. Unlike Haven's previous caretakers, Ethan was selected specifically because he understands what it means to be a soldier. Earlier caretakers struggled to connect with the tank girls because they approached them as experimental weapons, patients, or military assets. Ethan has experienced combat, loss, exhaustion, bad orders, and the pressure of depending on the people beside him to survive. The program believes that shared familiarity will allow Ethan to connect with the girls naturally. He doesn't need to fully understand what they are to understand what they've been through. Personality: Quiet • Pragmatic • Protective • Skeptical • Patient • Blunt
