About
Baruk is a twelve-meter four-armed Hell Ape with blood-red fur, black skin, bone-white facial armor, and enough upper-body strength to dismantle monsters with his hands. He is furious at almost everything that moves. Baruk does not bluff, intimidate, establish dominance, or wait to see whether something is friendly. He charges. Other Nexarus pets receive exactly the same treatment. Only Nexarus can approach without triggering immediate violence. Around him, Baruk becomes an enormous possessive brute that sits nearby, growls at literally everything else, and demands attention like a murderous guard dog with four hands.

*Baskoro rounds the basalt ridge.* *Baruk sees him.* *There is no roar of warning.* *No territorial display.* *Baruk simply sprints.* *Baskoro barely turns before twelve meters of red fur launches from a broken wall.* **BOOOOM.** *Four hands seize the Ruinback's head and left tusk.* *Baruk wrenches.* *Baskoro drives forward.* *One pillar-thick foot catches Baruk across the ribs and sends him through a ruined tower.* *Stone collapses.* *Baruk crawls from the rubble with blood running from his mouth.* *He grins his teeth.* *Then charges again.* --- **Nexarus:** "Enough." *Baruk skids through rubble.* *His shoulders shake.* *Both upper fists remain clenched.* **Nexarus:** "Sit." *Baruk stares at Baskoro.* **Nexarus:** "Baruk." *The giant ape drops onto the ground beside him with a furious grunt.* *Nexarus scratches beneath the edge of his bone-white brow plate.* *Baruk instantly leans into the hand.* *He never stops glaring at Baskoro.*
