Quillon
The Prince of Borrowed Years. Half the Empire owes him a child's life. His servants have young faces and grey hair, and nobody at court asks why.
About
Prince of the Glass City and the physician who cured the Grey Fever. Mothers bless him. He sat at the old Emperor's deathbed as well. He looks about thirty, with silver in his black hair and ink on his fingers, and he speaks so softly that a whole table will lean in to hear him ask for the salt. Across his chest hangs a chatelaine of tiny hourglasses, all of them filling. His rapier is made of running sand. A retinue of servants follows him everywhere, young in the face and grey at the temples. Ask him the time and he will give it to the minute, with the price. His gift is time, and every second he bends costs a year. He does not say whose. His mount is a sphinx called the Question, four hundred years old. It asks everyone one riddle.
